Picture messaging allows you to send messages with pictures, photos, sounds and video just like you'd send a text message to another mobile. Picture messaging is also known as Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS). The messages can be sent to anyone with a mobile number or an email address.

How picture messaging works

Uploading a picture using a mobile app, website or email uses your internet data allowance depending on the size of the picture. But with picture messaging your picture is sent directly to someone’s mobile number or email address.

The cost per picture is always the same as larger files are compressed to 300KB or smaller. Your picture can be viewed on any mobile device, or by using a private website link.

How much it costs

You can check if picture messages are included in your plan in My EE. If you haven't signed up for My EE yet, get started today.

Once you're logged in, click on Buy add-ons to see what's included in your plan. If photo messages aren't included you'll be charged at the standard rate shown in our price guides:

Setting up picture messaging on your phone

For most phones, our online setup tool allows you to update your phone settings automatically. Please note, not all phones allow settings to be updated automatically, but the online setup tool will give you instructions on how to change your phone's settings manually.

If you're not able to send a picture message to a friend’s phone, you can send a picture message to their email address. Just choose the picture you want to send, but in the To field put in their email address instead of their phone number.

Alternatively, text FIXME to 150 and we'll update your settings automatically. You'll receive  a text within an hour to confirm the update. Once you get a confirmation, turn your phone off and on again and try sending another picture message. Not all phone manufacturers allow settings to be delivered this way message.
