Here's how to set up email accounts on your BlackBerry Bold 9790.

Setting up your personal email for the first time

As a new user, you'll need to create a new BlackBerry Internet Service account. Here's how.

  1. Open the applications tray
  2. Select the Setup icon
  3. Select the email accounts icon
  4. Select Internet Mail Account
  5. You will be asked to sign in to your BlackBerry ID. If you have a BlackBerry ID sign in, if not, select Create New and follow the wizard
  6. Once you've created your BlackBerry ID or signed in, check you are happy with the terms and conditions and then select I Accept
  7. You will be asked if you want to associate your email address used with your BlackBerry ID. Enter your email address password and select Continue
  8. You'll now be able to configure the detailed settings for this account, once complete select Continue
  9. Your BlackBerry will now synchronise, once complete select OK to finish
  10. You will now be able to add another email account or select Return to Setup to exit

Adding an additional email account

  1. Open the applications tray
  2. Select the Setup icon
  3. Select the email accounts icon
  4. The phone will now connect to the email setup wizard
  5. Select Set up another email account
  6. Select the type of email account you are adding
  7. Complete the email address and password for the account and select continue
  8. You will now be able to configure the settings for this account, once complete, select Return to Setup to finish

Setting up corporate email using BlackBerry enterprise server (bes)

  1. Press the Menu button
  2. Scroll to Setup and press the Trackball
  3. Scroll to Setup Wizard and press the Trackball
  4. Scroll to Email setup and press the Trackball
  5. Select I want to use a work email account with BlackBerry Enterprise Server, then scroll to Next and press the Trackball
  6. If you have an Enterprise activation password, select Yes, scroll to Next and press the Trackball
  7. Enter the email address, password and activation server address, press the Menu button
  8. Scroll to Activate and press the Trackball

Activation may take up to 40 minutes, and 3 or more bars of signal are recommended. A confirmation will appear once it's all complete.
