Bright Box 2 Wireless Router - disable wireless security

To disable security on the router (for test purposes), follow the steps below from a computer connected to your Bright Box:

  1. Go to 192.168.1.1 (opens in a new tab or window)
    Enter 192.168.1.1 into browser address bar

  2. The router's login screen will open

  3. Enter the username and password for the admin pages

    - The username is admin (all lower case)
    - The password can be found on a sticker on the bottom of your router

  4. Select LOGIN

    Enter the username and password for the router's admin pages

  5. The STATUS page will open

  6. Select BASIC from the menu

    Select Basic from the EE menu

  7. Select Wireless Settings

    Select Wireless Settings

  8. The WIRELESS SETTINGS page will open
  9. In the Security field, select the option No security

  10. Click SAVE SETTINGS

    Click SAVE SETTINGS

  11. Your settings will be applied
    Applying changes. Please wait. The process may take up to 30 seconds. If you are making wireless changes you may need to reconnect to the wireless network.

  12. Refresh your wireless software and connect using the new security details

We strongly recommend that you use this as a test only, and that you re-enable security once your wireless connection is working.
