Bright Box router - update broadband username and password

Updating your broadband username and password can help get your router back online. Pick one of the options below:

Automatically update your username and password

You can automatically update your username and password using our migration wizard.

  1. From a computer connected to your Bright Box router, go to 192.168.1.1 (opens in a new tab or window)



  2. The router's LOGIN SCREEN will open



  3. Enter the username and password for the admin pages
    • The username is admin
    • The password can be found on a sticker on your router



  4. Click LOGIN



  5. Select BASIC



  6. Select the Migration Wizard from the menu on the left

  7. Check ADSL is selected (if using our broadband service) or change settings to Fibre/Ethernet if using our Fibre Broadband service
  8. Click APPLY

  9. Click OK on the pop-up to proceed



  10. The migration countdown will begin and you can close your browser



  11. Now wait a couple of minutes while we set up your Bright Box.

If you continue to experience problems, try manually updating your username and password.
 

Manually update your username and password

  1. From a computer connected to your Bright Box, go to http://192.168.1.1 (opens in a new tab or window)



  2. The router's LOGIN SCREEN will open



  3. Enter the username and password for the admin pages
    • The username is admin (all lower case)
    • The password can be found on a sticker on your router



  4. Click LOGIN



  5. The STATUS page will open - select BASIC



  6. In the Broadband Username field, enter your broadband username – enter letters in lower case, and remember to add @fs at the end
  7. In the Broadband Password field, enter the broadband password - this is case sensitive so Password isn't the same as PaSsWoRd

  8. Click SAVE SETTINGS



  9. You'll be prompted that the router has applied changes successfully



  10. You'll be redirected back to the BASIC settings page
  11. Click on STATUS - the Broadband State and Internet State should both show Connected
  12. This indicates your router is now connected to the internet

 

Check your username and password
