Htc one xl-apps

One of the brilliant things about a phone like the HTC One XL is the great apps you can download. Here we'll tell you how to access the app store (the Android app store is called Play Store), download apps and also remove any apps you no longer want.

Accessing play store

1. Add Email address and tap the Enter key
2. Add Email account password and tap on Sign in
3. If you wish to purchase applications, add your bank card information and click Save, or click Skip if you do not wish to add this information at this time
4. Amend the Back up and restore option to your choice and tap Next
5. The Play Store will now be available to search and download all of your favourite applications

If you are setting up a new account

1. Enter your first and last name and tap Next
2. Enter a new email address and tap Next
3. If your email address is not already in use enter a new password, then retype and tap Next
4. Enter recovery information and tap Next
5. Choose whether to join Google+ or tap on Not now
6. Tap on I accept the Google terms of service
7. If you wish to buy apps, add your bank card information and click Save, or click Skip if you do not wish to add this information at this time
8. Amend the Back up and restore option to your choice and tap Next
9. Tap to Accept the Google Play Store terms of service
10. The Play Store will now be available to search and download all of your favourite applications

Downloading apps

1. Tap All applications tab on your homescreen
2. Tap on Play Store (if using for the first time, you will need to register with a valid Google account, see Using the app store)
3. Click on Magnifying Glass in the top right corner
4. Enter the name of the application which you wish to search for, or alternatively tap on the microphone to search using voice command
5. Tap on the application you wish to download
6. Tap on Download
7. Tap on Accept & download
8. The application will begin downloading and will install automatically
9. Once installation is complete the application will show in the All applications tab

Removing apps

1. Slide open the notifications panel, and then tap Settings
2. Scroll down and tap on Apps
3. Tap on All
4. Tap on app which you wish to remove
5. Tap on Uninstall
6. Tap OK
7. Once application has been removed tap OK
