Nokia e72-set up picture messaging


If you're a T-Mobile customer, follow these instructions to set up the phone for picture messaging. If you're an Orange customer, your settings are at the end of this article.

  1. Find Destinations
    Press the Menu key
    Scroll to Ctrl. panel and press the Navigation key
    Scroll to Settings and press the Navigation key
    Scroll to Connection and press the Navigation key
    Scroll to Destinations and press the Navigation key

  2. Create data connection group
    Press Options
    Scroll to Manage and press the Navigation key
    Scroll to New destination and press the Navigation key
    Key in the required name and press the Navigation key
    Highlight the required group icon and press the Navigation key

  3. Create new data connection
    Highlight the data connection group you have just set up and press the Navigation key
    Press Options
    Scroll to New access point and press the Navigation key
    Press No

  4. Select data bearer
    Scroll to Packet data and press the Navigation key

  5. Enter APN name
    Key in 'eezone' and press the Navigation key

  6. Edit GPRS data connection settings
    Highlight the data connection you have just created and press the Navigation key

  7. Enter name
    Scroll to Connection name and press the Navigation key
    Key in PictureMessage and press the Navigation key

  8. Enter username
    Scroll to User name and press the Navigation key
    Key in 'eesecure' and press the Navigation key

  9. Deactivate password request
    Scroll to Prompt password and press the Navigation key to select No

  10. Enter password
    Scroll to Password and press the Navigation key
    Key in 'secure' and press the Navigation key

  11. Select authentication
    Scroll to Authentication and press the Navigation key to select Normal

  12. Enter picture messaging server
    Scroll to Homepage and press the Navigation key
    Key in http://mms and press the Navigation key

  13. Activate or deactivate automatic data connection use
    Scroll to Use access point and press the Navigation key to select Automatically or After confirmation

  14. Enter IP address
    Press Options
    Scroll to Advanced settings and press the Navigation key
    Scroll to Proxy server address and press the Navigation key
    Key in 149.254.201.135 and press the Navigation key

  15. Enter port number
    Scroll to Proxy port number and press the Navigation key
    Key in 8080 and press the Navigation key

  16. Save and exit
    Press Back twice to save the settings and return to the list of data connections
    Press Disconnect to return to standby mode

FOR ORANGE CUSTOMERS

  1. Find the settings
    Press Menu, then Ctrl. panel, then Settings, then Connection, then Destinations.
    In Network destinations, select Multimedia msg...
  2. MMS data settings
    Press Options, then New access point (if there is no profile, press Add).
    Answer No to the question: "Automatically check for available access points?" and select Packet data.
    Enter the following information:
    Packet data access point name: eezone (press OK)
    In Multimedia msg., select the new profile (by default "orangemms") and press Edit.
    Enter the following information:
    Connection name: Orange MMS
    Data bearer: Packet data
    Access point name: orangemms
    User name: Orange
    Prompt password: No
    Password: Multimedia
    Authentication: Normal
    Homepage: http://mms.orange.co.uk
    Use access point: Automatically
    Press Options and select Advanced settings.
    Enter the following information:
    Network type: IPv4
    Phone IP address: Automatic
    DNS addresses: Automatic
    Proxy server address: 192.168.224.10
    Proxy port number: 8080
    Press Options, then Exit, then Back.
    In Menu, select Messaging.
    Press Options, then Settings, then Multimedia message, then Access point in use.
    In the list select the new profile Orange MMS.
    The new profile is saved and activated.
