Nokia Lumia 1020-conserving the battery life

Here's how to conserve the battery life of your Nokia Lumia 1020:

If the battery life appears to be short, disabling some of the following features and modifying the settings may help:

  • Reducing the backlight brightness
  • Reducing the auto-lock duration
  • Disabling WiFi
  • Disabling Bluetooth
  • Disabling GPS
  • Activating Battery Saver
  • Disabling Vibrate

  1. From the Start screen, swipe to the left.
  2. Scroll down to and tap Settings.
  3. Scroll down to and tap brightness.
  4. Tap the Automatically adjust switch to disable automatic brightness.
  5. Tap the Level dropdown.
  6. Tap low.
  7. Tap the Back button.
  8. Scroll up to and tap lock screen.
  9. Scroll down to and tap the Screen times out after dropdown.
  10. Tap the required duration (e.g. 30 seconds).
  11. Tap the Back button.
  12. Tap WiFi.
  13. Tap the WiFi networking switch to disable WiFi.
  14. Tap the Back button.
  15. Tap Bluetooth.
  16. Tap the Status switch to disable Bluetooth.
  17. Tap the Back button.
  18. Scroll down to and tap location.
  19. Tap the Location services switch to disable.
  20. Tap the Back button.
  21. Tap battery saver.
  22. Tap the Battery saver switch to enable.
  23. Tap the Back button.
  24. Scroll up to and tap ringtones+sounds.
  25. Tap the Vibrate switch to disable.

That's it - the Nokia Lumia 1020 is configured to conserve battery life.
