Here's how you can use your Samsung Galaxy S III LTE's settings to add an email account automatically. There's also a series of simple steps you can follow to add an email account to the phone manually.

Add an email account automatically

1. Start on your homescreen and tap the Apps icon
2. Scroll to and select Email
3. Enter your email address in the field
4. Tap the password field
5. Enter your email account's password and then tap Next

Your phone will detect your settings. Now follow these next few steps:

1. Select the required Email check frequency
        Tick/Untick Notify me when email arrives
        Tick/Untick Automatically download attachments when connected to WiFi
        Then, tap Next
2. Give the account a name, enter your name and then tap Done

Your email is now set up, and you'll be taken to your inbox.

Add an email account manually

Here's how to set up your email yourself. These are example settings for Gmail only - server details will be different depending on the type of email account that's being set up. 

1. Start on your homescreen and tap the Apps icon
2. Scroll to and select Email
3. Enter your email address in the field
4. Tap the password field
5. Enter your email account's password and then tap Manual setup
6. Under 'What type of account?' tap IMAP account
7. Tap the username field and details are correct
8. Tap the password field, and enter your email password once more
9. Tap the IMAP server field
10. Enter imap.gmail.com, and scroll down and tap the Security type dropdown menu.
11. Tap SSL
12. Then, tap the Port field
13. Enter 993, and then tap Next

Your Samsung Galaxy S III LTE will now confirm the settings you've entered are valid, then take you to the Outgoing settings:

1. Now, tap the SMTP server field
2. You should enter smtp.gmail.com here
3. Scroll down and tap the Security type dropdown menu
4. Tap SSL
5. Tap Port and enter 465
6. Ensure the green tick is showing next to 'Require sign in'
7. Tap the username field, and ensure username details are correct
8. Tap the password field and ensure your password is correct
9. Then tap Next

Your Samsung Galaxy S III LTE will now confirm the Outgoing settings you've entered are valid before continuing.

1. Choose your email check frequency
2. Tick/Untick Notify me when email arrives, then tap Next
3. Now give your account a name (e.g. gmail.com), then tap the Your name field
4. Final step. Enter a name of your choice - this will be shown on your outgoing emails - and tap Done
