When and how can I upgrade?
You can Upgrade Anytime from day 15 of a new plan and up to 30 days before it ends. There may be an early upgrade fee depending on where you are in your contract.
To be eligible, you need to trade-in your existing phone and sign up to a new 24-month plan. If you don’t have one, or your handset is in poor condition, you may need to pay a damage fee. The data allowance on your new plan must be at least the same as or higher than the data allowance on your current plan.
Swap your current phone for the latest model online, in-store or by calling 150 from your EE phone.

How Upgrade Anytime works
If you’re on an eligible Upgrade Anytime plan, you can upgrade from day 15 of your new plan and up to 30 days before it ends. There may be an early upgrade fee to pay depending on where you are in your contract, but you can upgrade every two weeks if you want - you just need to swap your old phone and sign up to a new 24-month plan. You may need to pay an upfront cost for your new handset.
- in the first 6 months of your plan, there's a £200-£600 early upgrade fee depending on what device you have
- between 6 and 12 months into your plan there's a £100-£300 early upgrade fee depending on what device you have
- after 12 months there is no early upgrade fee
- if you're in the last 30 days before your plan ends, you can upgrade as normal with no early upgrade fee, and you can keep your old phone
Your current device must be returned in the same condition as specified on the date of trade-in; otherwise, you may receive a revised quotation for your device that includes a damage fee. If you don’t send your current device back within 14 days of receiving the returns bag, an early upgrade fee will apply.
