If you tried satellite broadband years ago and were frustrated, this is a completely different experience. Previous satellite services relied on a single, large satellite positioned tens of thousands of kilometers above Earth. This resulted in high latency, slow speeds, frequent weather disruptions, and restrictive data caps. Starlink uses satellites that are positioned much closer (just 500 - 600 km above Earth), delivering faster speeds, lower latency, unlimited data, and much better weather performance.

The Starlink dish and connection hardware are required as they contain specialised technology to communicate with the satellite constellation. An EE router is required and will be provisioned with the service, providing strong WiFi coverage and enabling the EE service wrap. From order to installation we expect 1-3 weeks, depending on your location and engineer availability. Set up is simple, you can install it yourself or opt for an engineer to do it for you. The compact satellite dish just needs a clear view of the sky (usually on your roof, it can also be on the wall, or attached to the ground), and most set ups take only a few hours.
