How to get EE Insurance and Protection

You can add Full Cover or Damage Cover to your account when you take out a new contract with EE.

If you're an EE customer without insurance, you can do this within 90 days of receiving your device from EE by calling us on 150.

If you have an existing EE insurance product and would like to change it, you can do this by calling us on 150.

*Your monthly premium will vary depending on your device, this represents the monthly premium for our lowest tier device.

Some important things to know

You can cancel your insurance within 14 days of receiving your policy documents and receive a full refund, unless you have made a successful claim. After the 14 day period, we will refund the part  of the monthly premium paid onto your next EE Airtime Plan bill, from the date we receive your cancellation instruction.

Full Cover and Damage Cover will automatically renew every month for up to a maximum of sixty months and the monthly premium will be added to your bill.  Towards the end of the sixty months we will contact you, unless you tell us you no longer want it before then.

If you upgrade your device your cover will end, and if you change your Service Plan, you  should call EE Insurance Team on 0800 956 6140 to check your insurance is still in place.

Insurance premiums are exempt from VAT and include Insurance Premium Tax at the current rate. You’ll be told the premium amount before  you buy it, and it will be detailed on Your Confirmation of Your Insurance Cover in your welcome pack.

Full Cover and Damage Cover - Eligibility

You can only purchase Full Cover or Damage Cover if:

  • You are 18 years of age or over and   live permanently in the United Kingdom.
  • You have bought your device direct from us
  • You are the named account holder.
  • The device is registered in your name, and connected to a pay monthly EE plan.

Terms and Conditions

T&Cs: Our standard 150 opening hours are 8am - 8pm weekdays and 8am - 6pm on weekends. Calls outside that time (till 10pm weekdays and 8pm on weekends) cost 50p per call. Calls to 07953 966 250 are charged at standard network rates. If calling from another phone, check call charges with your provider.

Excess: An excess is payable for each successful claim. Please visit our terms page to see the current excess bands and amounts.

Next-day refurbished replacement: Geographical restrictions, bank holidays and exceptional circumstances apply. Please see our terms page.

Claims limit: We will accept a total number of two successful loss/theft claims in a 12 month period. The 12 month period begins on the date we accept your first claim. There is no limit on the number of successful claims we will accept for accidental damage during the period of cover.

Faulty replacement: For a fee, you can get a next day refurbished replacement if your device is diagnosed with a fault in the first 24 months from the start of your Airtime Plan contract. This fee will be added onto your Airtime Plan bill. Not available to Apple customers within the first 12 months. Not available to SIM only customers. Free Minute One Premium Bundle: Bundle includes free Zagg screen protector, phone case and £10 voucher to be used online at the Minute One Premium Bundle page when purchasing accessories of over £30. Offer only available to customers taking Full Cover insurance at the same time as taking out a new, or upgrading to a new Pay Monthly contract on selected phones. Multi-policy discount: Additional policies must be in your name and on the same EE account to get the discount. Discount off the monthly charge for your insurance product only. It doesn’t apply to the excess or any other insurance fees.

10% loyalty discount: If you choose to protect your new device with Full Cover or Damage Cover when you upgrade your EE plan, you will get a 10% loyalty discount off the total monthly insurance payment each month.  This discount will last for as long as you keep the EE insurance product for your new registered device, up to a maximum of 60 months and is only available if your previous device was insured by EE. The discount will come off the total monthly insurance payment (which includes your monthly insurance premium plus Insurance Premium Tax at the prevailing rate). Offer only available to EE customers who upgrade their EE plan and purchase a new EE insurance product at the same time. Only applicable to new policies purchased after the 1st May 2018. Offer not available if there is a gap between the expiry of your previous insurance product and taking out a new product. Not available with any other offer or discount, except 50% no claims discount on excess fee and multi-policy discount (we will apply the loyalty discount first, then you will get the multi-policy discount based on that discounted cost).

50% no claims discount on excess fee: Offer only for customers who 1) previously had a Full Cover or Damage Cover product and 2) did not make a successful claim under the Full Cover or Damage Cover policy that immediately preceded the current insurance policy. If you make a successful claim under your Full Cover or Damage Cover policy and you have not completed a successful claim under your previous policy, you will get a one-off 50% no claims discount on the excess payable. Only applicable to new policies purchased after the 1st May 2018. Offer not available if there has been a gap between your previous product and your current product; if you have failed to make all monthly payments due for your insurance product; if you made a fraudulent claim on your previous policy or if the claim you submit is fraudulent (in our reasonable opinion).

Total monthly insurance payments are exempt from VAT and include Insurance Premium Tax (IPT) at the prevailing rate. You’ll be told the premium amount (inclusive of IPT) for your device before you buy it and it will be detailed on Your Confirmation of Your Insurance Cover in your welcome pack. If Insurance Premium Tax or any other taxes related to this insurance change, this will affect the amount you pay each month.
