How do I view my data allowance and monitor my use?
You can easily see how much data you’ve used and how much you’ve got left until your allowance restarts in the My EE App.

When you’ve used 80% of your data allowance we’ll send you a text message. If you finish your data allowance, we’ll send you another text to let you know and to ask you if you’d like to buy a data add-on to keep you connected.
You don’t have to worry about incurring additional charges because Data is capped on all our Pay Monthly plans. If you’ve finished your allowance you won’t be able to use mobile data to access the internet until your allowance restarts or you buy a data add-on.
For Business Connect plans, it’s a little different. If you’ve chosen to get allowance alerts, we’ll use the preferences you’ve set to let you know when you’ve used 80% of your data and again when it’s finished.
There’s no data cap on Business Connect plans. This means you stay connected even when you’ve finished your allowance. However, using additional data after you’ve finished your allowance will incur additional charges.
If you’re on a Pay Monthly plan, when you’ve finished your data, we’ll send you a text with a link to buy more. You can use the link even if you’ve finished your data.
If you’d like to buy a data add-on anyway, just visit http://add-on.ee.co.uk/ when you’re connected to the EE network. Then tap Buy to view and buy an add-on.
You can restrict individual mobile numbers on your account to prevent individual users from buying additional data. When they finish their data allowance, they’ll be unable to use data and won’t be able to buy additional data add-ons which would normally be applied to your bill.
You can also completely block their mobile data. This means that they won’t be able to use any of their data allowance, so they won’t be able to do basic things like check their email or use Maps on their device. They’ll only be able to use their device to connect to internet if they use Wi-Fi.
You can add or remove both bars within your account settings:
- Login to My EE and access the Account Settings menu
- Select Manage within the Usage Control section
- Select the mobile number you want to make changes to from the dropdown
- Toggle the Buy data control to allow or bar the user from being able to buy data add-ons
- Toggle the Usage data control to allow or bar mobile data access
