There's no extra charge just for using 4G - you'll pay the same as you would for using the same amount of data on 3G.

However because 4G is so much faster, you may find that you use the internet and download or stream more than you did with 3G. You may also watch higher quality HD video, which uses more data.

Pay monthly data allowances

You'll get a data allowance with your price plan that you can use across our entire network in the UK. If you’re not in a 4G area, you’ll automatically be switched to 3G so you stay connected.

If your data allowance runs out before the end of your bill period, you can buy a data add-on to let you carry on using the internet. Your data allowance will reset at the start of the next bill period.

Pay as You Go data allowances

To use data on your 4GEE pay as you go phone or mobile broadband device, you’ll need to buy a data add-on. You’ve got the flexibility to choose from a range of different allowances, and some come with access to our new double speed 4GEE, which goes up to 60Mb/sec (that’s as fast as most people’s fibre broadband at home).

On pay as you go, it’s impossible to go over your data limit. If your data runs out, you simply buy more – no hidden charges here.

Using data abroad

To keep your costs down, internet on your phone won't work when you're abroad unless you buy an Add-on.

If you try to use the internet while you're abroad, you'll be asked whether you want to buy an Add-on - simple!

Calls and texts

If you’re on pay monthly, your minutes and text allowances will depend on which plan you choose.

On pay as you go, you can use your credit to make calls and send texts but it’s much better value to buy minutes and text add-ons.
