From transferring technical drawings to signing safety certificates, business on the move’s a breeze Spitfire Scaffolding
Milton Keynes-based Spitfire Scaffolding works on commercial and domestic projects right across the south of England. For the three-man family business, being able to operate on the move is the key to staying competitive.
The company relies on the transfer of large files like building plans and photographs, as well as electronically signing and sending legally-required documents.
Unfortunately, trying to do this over a 3G network was frustratingly slow. In addition, Nigel Corbett, who set up the business in 2009 with his two brothers, found that using a laptop and scanner on a dusty building site wasn’t really practical.
Our solution and its value
Switching to a 4GEE small business solution with a new smartphone has helped Nigel to complete jobs sooner and get new business in faster.
For example, by using superior 4GEE download and upload speeds, he is able to send and receive large files in a blink, while viewing photographs, drawings and documents as they arrive.
“I can take a photo of a building, draw on it to show where the scaffolding should be and email it instantly,” says Nigel.
He can also access meaty PDF forms like health and safety certificates and use a stylus to sign them before returning them straightaway. That means jobs get booked in quicker and the company wins more business.
4GEE allows the company’s social media pages to be accessed and amended on the move too. Not only that, but 4GEE makes the smartphone usable as an in-car sat-nav. Nigel sums up: “With 4GEE I can practically run the whole company from my smartphone. I barely boot up the laptop any more.”
