What the 2017 T-Mobile price changes mean for you

What is happening?

Each year, your monthly price plan(s) will increase by the rate of Retail Price Index (RPI). This year this change will take effect from 1st June 2017. RPI is a measure of the change in prices for consumers on average across the country over the last 12 months. The RPI figure published by the Office for National Statistics in April 2017 is 3.1%.

What this means for you?

Any bills you receive from 1st June 2017 will show a 3.1% increase in the monthly price of your plan if you joined or upgraded to a Pay Monthly or SIM Only contract before 23rd January 2014.

Frequently asked questions:

Why are you increasing prices?

As detailed in our terms we increase monthly price plans in line with RPI, this reflects the increase in the costs to run and invest in the network and service we provide.

How have you calculated the rate of increase on my plan?

We’ve used the Retail Price Index (RPI) of 3.1% published in April 2017. RPI is a measure of the change in prices for consumers on average across the country, over the last 12 months. The change is calculated by adding 3.1% to the price of your monthly price plan.

How do I know if my price is increasing?

All customers who are impacted by the price increase will be contacted. You will receive a minimum of 30 days written notice notifying you before the increase takes place.

How will the increase appear on my bill?

The increase will appear on your bill as an increase to your monthly price plan.

What if I have a discount on my monthly plan?

If you have a discount then this will not change. The price increase is applied to your original price plan charge and then your discount is applied afterwards. You can log into your account to see more information about your price plan.

What happens if I upgrade to another plan?

If you upgrade onto a new plan from 1st March 2017, this price increase will be applicable on your current plan until the date when you upgrade to the new plan. Your new plan price will increase  in March 2018.

Can I cancel my contract?

Of course, we don’t want to see you go but if you’d like to leave before the end of your contract, you may need to pay an early termination charge.
