When can I upgrade?
To find out if you’re ready to upgrade:
- Log in to EE to see when you can upgrade for free
- contact us by phone
- text UP to 150 for free from an EE phone
- if you're looking for a new device, follow the prompts to log in from our shop pages - you’ll usually get a better price as you’re already with EE
You can upgrade without a fee if you’ve got less than 30 days until your plan ends.
Alternatively, if you’re in the last 100 days of your contract, you can get the latest device with no early upgrade fee if your new plan is higher than your current plan.
If you have taken out a device credit agreement with us, you can upgrade your phone whenever you like from day 15 of a new plan, you just need to pay off the remaining balance of the device.
Or upgrade on the date shown when you log in to EE if you’re eligible for an Annual Upgrade.
Can I upgrade if I’m on a shared plan?
Yes, if you’re eligible but there are a few important things to remember:
- upgrades must be done by the account holder
- if you’re upgrading and want to join a shared plan, you’ll need an account holder on a shared plan to attach to
- if you’re the account holder of a shared plan and want to move to your own plan, you’ll need to appoint a new account holder first
- if you want to become an account holder, the existing account holder will need to move to their own plan or become a sharer
Don't forget, you can make use of your old device by:
- getting a pay as you go SIM
- taking out a SIM only pay monthly plan
- trading it in for cash with Trade In
Can I change my mind once I’ve upgraded?
Yes, you can cancel your upgrade unless you've traded in your device.
