How to fix issues with the EE TV app on a phone/tablet

Having problems watching EE TV on your tablet or phone? You’ve come to the right place.

Check your tablet or phone is connected to your router

Check your tablet or phone is connected to your router

First, check your tablet or phone is connected to the same router as your EE TV – look in your device’s settings. You may need to move a bit closer to make sure you’re getting a good WiFi signal from your router, you should have two bars or more. 

Check your EE TV WiFi signal strength

Check your EE TV WiFi signal strength

Check there's a good signal strength between your EE TV and router. If you're using WiFi:

  1. 1

    press MENU on your EE TV remote

  2. 2

    use the arrow buttons to go to TOOLS & HELP > STATUS and press OK

  3. 3

    you’ll see your WiFi status – above 80% is good and 60% is OK

If you’re still having WiFi problems, you could trying using a wired (Ethernet) connection or consider buying some Powerline adaptors to connect.

Move closer

If you’re having WiFi connection problems, you may need to move closer to your router. It doesn’t matter how close your device is to your EE TV box.

When you're not using your EE TV box, it goes into a deep sleep – you'll know as the light on the front turns off. To wake it up, press the standby button on your remote control.

To stop your EE TV box going into eco mode:

  1. 1

    press MENU on your EE TV remote

  2. 2

    use the arrows to go to TOOLS & HELP > MULTI SCREEN 

  3. 3

    tick the EE TV app user box

Close and re-open your EE TV app

Close and re-open your EE TV app

Try closing and re-opening your EE TV app:

iPhone or iPad
  1. 1

    double click Home and swipe left or right to find your EE TV app

  2. 2

    swipe up on the apps preview to close it

  3. 3

    re-open the app

Android phone or tablet
  1. open Settings, choose Apps and tap Running 

  2. choose EE TV and tap Stop or Force Stop

  3. re-open the app

Still having problems? Try turning your device off and on again.

Reboot your EE TV and router

Reboot your EE TV and router

Try switching off then unplugging your EE TV from the mains. Wait 30 seconds before plugging it back in and switching on again. Still not working? Try doing the same with your router.
