My phone's battery life is short
If your phone uses too much power and the battery life is short, there may be several causes of the problem.
Solution 1 of 14: Live wallpapers are turned on
If live wallpapers are turned on, the power consumption may increase.
Turn off live wallpapers.
Solution 2 of 14: Automatic app update is turned on
You can select whether your apps should be updated to the newest version automatically or manually. See how to install an app
.
Solution 3 of 14: Automatic screen lock is turned off
When the screen lock is turned on, your phone's screen light is turned off. If your phone's screen lock is turned off or is set set to turn on after a long period of time, the power consumption may increase.
Turn on automatic screen lock.
Solution 4 of 14: Automatic content synchronisation is turned on
You can access the contents of your phone on other devices by turning on automatic content synchronisation.
Solution 5 of 14: The battery is faulty
If the battery is faulty, the battery life is reduced.
Go to the manufacturer's web page to see if it's possible to change the battery.
Solution 6 of 14: Bluetooth is turned on
If Bluetooth is turned on on your phone, the power consumption may increase because your phone continuously searches for nearby Bluetooth devices.
Turn off Bluetooth.
Solution 7 of 14: Mobile data is turned on
You can limit your data usage by turning off mobile data. You'll then not be able to access the internet using the mobile network. You can still use Wi-Fi even though mobile data is turned off.
Solution 8 of 14: Notifications are turned on
If notifications are turned on, the power consumption may increase.
Solution 9 of 14: The screen brightness is set too high
If your phone's screen brightness is set too high, the power consumption may increase.
Lower the screen brightness.
Solution 10 of 14: Low Power Mode has been turned off
Some functions on your phone use a lot of power and therefore significantly reduce the battery life. You can reduce the power consumption by turning on low power mode.
Solution 11 of 14: Vibration is turned on
If vibration is turned on on your phone, the power consumption may increase.
Turn off vibration.
Solution 12 of 14: Wi-Fi is turned on
If Wi-Fi is turned on on your phone, the power consumption may increase because your phone continuously searches for available Wi-Fi networks.
Turn off Wi-Fi.
Solution 13 of 14: There are too many running applications
Some applications aren't ended completely when you return to the home screen. If you don't end them from the list of running applications, they keep running in the background which may slow down your phone.
Solution 14 of 14: GPS is turned on
Your phone can determine your geographical position using GPS (Global Positioning System). The information about your location can be used by a number of applications on your phone such as navigation, the search function or weather forecast.
