Set up email manually

Please note: These instructions are based on a POP3 email account. If you have a web-based email account, you need to use the settings for web-based email. Click here for information on how to set up the phone for web-based email.

  1. Find Mail, Contacts, Calendars
    Press Network
    Press General
    Press Settings
    Press Mail, Contacts, Calendars

  2. Create new email account
    Press Add Account...
    Press Other
    Press Add Mail Account

  3. Enter sender name
    Press Name and key in the name you want to use as sender name in your email messages

  4. Enter email address
    Press Address and key in your email address

  5. Enter password
    Press Password and key in the password for your email account at your email provider

  6. Enter email account name
    Press Description and key in a name for your email account (e.g. "Private" or "Work")
    Press Next

  7. Select server type
    Press POP

  8. Enter incoming server
    Press Host Name below Incoming Mail Server
    Key in the name or the IP address of your email provider's incoming server

  9. Enter username
    Press User Name below Incoming Mail Server and key in the username for your email account at your email provider

  10. Enter outgoing server
    Press Host Name below Outgoing Mail Server and key in the name or IP address of your email provider's outgoing server

  11. Enter username for outgoing server
    Press User Name below Outgoing Mail Server and key in the username for your email account at your email provider, if required

  12. Enter password for outgoing server
    Press Password below Outgoing Mail Server and key in the username for your email account at your email provider, if required

  13. Save information
    Press Save

  14. Select email account
    Press the name of the email account you have just set up

  15. Deactivate SSL encryption of outgoing email
    Press SMTP below Outgoing Mail Server
    Press the field below Primary Server
    Press the indicator next to Use SSL to deactivate the function

  16. Deactivate password encryption
    Press Authentication
    Press Password
    Press the field at the top left corner of the display

  17. Enter outgoing port
    Press Press Server Port
    Key in 25 and press OK

  18. Deactivate SSL encryption of incoming email
    Press the name of the email account you have just set up
    Press Advanced
    Press the indicator next to Use SSL to deactivate the function

  19. Deactivate password encryption
    Press Authentication
    Press Password
    Press Advanced

  20. Enter incoming port
    Press Server Port and key in 110
    Press the name of the email account you have just set up
    Press Done

  21. Select setting for retrieval of new email messages
    Press Fetch New Data
    Press the indicator next to Push to activate or deactivate the function

    If you deactivate Push
    Press the required period or Manually

    To select settings for a specific email account
    Press Advanced
    Press the required email account
    Press Fetch or Manual
    Press Advanced
    Press Fetch New Data
    Press Mail... to save the settings

  22. Exit
    Press the Home key to return to standby mode

Set up the phone for web-based email

    Find "Mobile Data Network"
    Press Settings
    Press General
    Press Network
    Press Mobile Data Network

  1. Enter APN
    Press APN below Mobile Data

  2. Enter username
    Press Username below Mobile Data and key in user

  3. Enter password
    Press Password below Mobile Data and key in pass

  4. Find Mail, Contacts, Calendars
    Press Network
    Press General
    Press Settings
    Press Mail, Contacts, Calendars

  5. Create new email account
    Press Add Account....
    Press the required provider

  6. Enter sender name
    Press Name and key in the name you want to use as sender name in your email messages

  7. Enter email address
    Press Address and key in your email address (e.g.name@provider.com)

  8. Enter password
    Press Password and key in the password for your email account at your email provider

  9. Enter email account name
    Press Description and key in a name for your email account (e.g. "Private" or "Work")
    Press Next

  10. Choose synchronisation settings
    Press the indicator next to the required data type to activate or deactivate synchronisation of the specific data types
    Press Save

  11. Select setting for retrieval of new email messages
    Press Fetch New Data
    Press the indicator next to Push to activate or deactivate the function
    If you deactivate Push
    Press the required period or Manually

    To select settings for a specific email account:
    Press Advanced
    Press the required email account
    Press Fetch or Manually
    Press Advanced
    Press Fetch New Data
    Press Mail... to save the settings

  12. Exit
    Press the Home key to return to standby mode

Set up the phone for Exchange email

    Find Mobile Data Network
    Press Press Settings
    Press General
    Press Network
    Press Mobile Data Network

  1. Enter APN
    Press APN below Mobile Data

  2. Enter username
    Press Username below Mobile Data and key in use

  3. Enter password
    Press Password below Mobile Data and key in pass

  4. Find Mail, Contacts, Calendars
    Press Network
    Press General
    Press Settings
    Press Mail, Contacts, Calendars

  5. Create new email account
    Press Add Account....
    Press Microsoft Exchange

  6. Enter email address
    Press Email and key in your email address

  7. Enter domain name
    Press Domain and key in the domain name

  8. Enter username
    Press Username and key in the username for the server

  9. Enter password
    Press Password and key in the password for the server

  10. Enter email account name
    Press Description and key in a name for the email account
    Press Next

  11. Enter server name
    Press Server and key in the required name
    Press Next

  12. Choose synchronisation settings
    Press the indicator next to the required data type to activate or deactivate synchronisation of the specific data types
    Press Save

  13. Activate or deactivate security
    Press the name of the Exchange email account you have just set up
    Press Account
    Press the indicator next to Use SSL
    Depending on the current setting, security is activated or deactivated
    Press Done
    Press Mail...

  14. Select setting for retrieval of new email messages
    Press Fetch New Data
    Press the indicator next to Push to activate or deactivate the function
     
  15. If you deactivate Push:
    Press the required period or Manually

    To select settings for a specific email account:
    Press Advanced
    Press the required email account
    Press Push, Fetch or Manual
    Press Advanced
    Press Fetch New Data
    Press Mail... to save the settings

  16. Exit
    Press the Home key to return to standby mode.
