Changing the SIM or memory card

The SIM card contains your phone number. When you change the SIM card, the phone will automatically get the phone number contained on the new SIM card.

Follow these instructions to change the SIM card and the battery on your BlackBerry Curve 8520.

Please note: the phone must be turned off when you change the SIM card and the battery.

Remove the back cover
Turn the back of the phone towards you
Take hold of the bottom of the back cover and remove it

Remove the battery
Take hold of the top of the battery and remove it

Remove the SIM card
Remove the SIM card out of the SIM card holder

Insert SIM card
Place the SIM card as illustrated under the SIM card holder
Slide the SIM card into the SIM card holder

Insert battery
Place the battery in the phone (bottom first), aligning the battery contacts with the corresponding contacts in the phone, and press the battery into place

Replace the back cover
Place the back cover on the phone, top first, and press the back cover into place

Change memory card

The memory card is the phone's external memory.
Follow these instructions to change the memory card.

Please note: You need to turn off the phone before changing the memory card.

Remove the back cover
Turn the back of the phone towards you
Take hold of the bottom of the back cover and remove it

Remove memory card
Remove the memory card from the memory card holder

Insert new memory card
Place the memory card as illustrated in the phone
Slide the memory card into the memory card holder

Replace the back cover
Place the back cover on the phone, top first, and press the back cover into place
