Transfer media files

There are several ways to transfer media files to and from the phone.

  1. Connect the phone to a computer
  2. The PC will recognize it just like any removable USB drive, it is then possible to copy your media files from the phone to a PC folder location.

  3. Download and use HTC Sync Manager software
  4. Set Sync Manager up to sync folders containing media and playlists on the PC with HTC phone. HTC Sync Manager can also automatically get photos and videos off the HTC phone to the PC.

  5. Online storage services
  6. Use online storage services like SkyDrive or Dropbox to have all media files in one place and access them anywhere, From a PC, from the HTC phone and other mobile devices.

Check first what online storage accounts are available on the HTC phone and sign in to the one you want to use. To sign in to an account, tap and drag the Notifications panel down, and then tap Settings > Accounts & sync > Add.

Use the Gallery app to access media in your online storage.

HTC phones do not include File Manager applications, so it is not possible to move files without using a third party application.

If the device has been updated to Kit Kat, then even a third party file manager would be useless, as applications are no longer allowed to access SD card outside of their installation folder, and you would still need to transfer files via the PC.
