Restrict background data for an app

Find out how to restrict background data for an application on your device.

  1. From the home screen, tap the Menu button.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. On the Networks tab, tap Mobile data.
  4. Scroll down to the apps list, then tap the required app.
  5. Scroll to and tap the Restrict background data checkbox.
  6. Tap OK.

Background data has been restricted.

Note: This option is only available for non-system apps. Apps such as google services and Android OS cannot be restricted. This setting will only restrict background data for the selected app.
