Follow these instructions to make a call on your Apple iPhone 3GS.
- Make the call
- End the call
Press End Call to end the call
Press Keypad: The call keypad is displayed
Key in the required number
Press Call
Answer a call
When somebody calls you, the number or the name of the caller is displayed and the phone plays the incoming call alert you have chosen. Follow these instructions to answer a call.

If the key lock is activated: Drag the arrow right
If the key lock is deactivated: Press Answer
- End the call
Press End Call to end the call
Reject a call
You can reject an incoming call if you do not want to answer it. When a call is rejected, the call is diverted to your voicemail or to any other number you have selected. Follow these instructions to reject a call

If the key lock is activated: To reject a call, press On/Off twice
If the key lock is deactivated: Press Decline to reject a call
Silence the incoming call alert
You can silence the incoming call alert if you do not want to answer or reject the call right away. Afterwards, you can still answer or reject it as long as the call continues. Follow these instructions to silence the incoming call alert.

Press the Top volume key or the Bottom volume key when you receive a call: The incoming call alert is silenced
If you take no further action, the call continues until the caller disconnects or the call is diverted to your voicemail
Call a number from the phone book
Contacts that have been saved in the phone book are easy to find and call. Follow these instructions to call a contact from the phone book.

- Find the required contact
Press Contacts
Press the required contact
If required, press the first letter of the required contact on the right side of the display
- Make the call
The contact details are displayed
Press the required number
The display shows that the number is being called
Call a favourite number
Numbers that have been saved in the phone book as favourites are easy to find and call. Follow these instructions to call a favourite number.
Please note: To call a favourite number, the number needs to be saved as a favourite.

If required, press Favorites
Press the required contact
The display shows that the number is being called
Use voice dialling
With voice dialling you can make a call to a contact in the phone book by saying a voice command followed by the name of the contact. Follow these instructions to make a call using voice dialling.

Use voice dialling
Press and hold the Home key until a tone sounds
Say "call" followed by the required name
The contact is confirmed on the display and the number is called
Make an international call
Follow these instructions to make an international call.
- Enter the number
Press Phone
If required, press Keypad
The call keypad is displayed.
Press and hold 0 until + is displayed
Key in the country code (omitting 00), the area code (omitting 0) and the phone number
- Make the call
Press Call
