You can write and send text messages from your phone to another.
Follow these instructions to write and send a text message on your Apple iPhone 3GS.
- Find Messages
Press Messages - Create new text message
If required, press Messages
Press the new text message icon in the top right corner of the display - Enter recipient(s)
Press the input field next to To and key in the name or number of the recipient
If required, press _123 to activate number input
Please note: If you key in more names or numbers manually, press return to separate them. If you are writing numbers, press ABC. - Write the text message
Press the input field
Follow the steps below to write a text message using the display keypad
Write letters
Press the key with the required letter
Switch between capital and lower case letters
To write one capital letter: Press Shift once
Press the required letter
To write several capital letters in succession: Press Shift twice
Press the required letters
Press Shift again to return to writing lower case letters
Please note: Before you can write several capital letters in succession, you need to activate this function in the keypad settings. Click here for information on how to select settings for the keypad.
Insert space and line break
Press space to insert a space between two words
Press return to insert a line break
Write numbers and symbols
Press .?123 to see the number and symbol keypad
Press the required numbers and symbols
If required, press #+= to see more symbols
Press ABC to return to the regular keypad
Insert text
Press where you want to insert text
Write the text
Delete text
Press the delete icon to delete the character to the left of the cursor - Send text message
Press Send when you have written your text message - Exit
Press the Home key to return to standby mode
