When you get your new Windows Phone 8S by HTC out of the box, here's how to put it together.
Removing the bottom cover
Remove the bottom cover to access the SIM card slot and storage card slot.
- Securely hold your phone with the front facing down
- With your thumbs, push the bottom cover out to remove it
Replacing the bottom cover
Antennas are placed underneath the cover. To get the best signal for calls and data connection, be sure to secure the cover tightly.
- Align the teeth underneath the bottom cover with the notches on the side of the phone
- Press down on the bottom cover with your thumbs, and then push it until it locks into place
You'll hear a click when the bottom cover is locked in place.
Sim card
The SIM card contains your phone number, service details, and memory for storing phonebook contacts and/or text messages.
Inserting the SIM card
- Take the bottom cover off
- Insert the SIM card with its gold contacts facing up and its cut-off corner facing in
- Push the SIM card until it clicks into place
Removing the SIM card
Make sure to switch off your phone before removing your SIM card.
- Take the bottom cover off
- Press the SIM card in to eject it from its slot
- Slide the SIM card out from its slot
Memory card
Use a memory card to store your photos, videos, music, and more.
Inserting the memory card
- Take the bottom cover off
- Insert the microSD card into the storage card slot with its gold contacts facing down and push it until it clicks into place
Unmounting the memory card
When you need to remove the storage card while your phone is on, unmount the storage card first to prevent corrupting or damaging the files in the storage card.
- On the Start screen, slide to the left
- Tap Settings > phone storage
- Tap SD card > remove SD card
Removing the memory card
- Take the bottom cover off
- Push the storage card in to eject it from its slot
- Slide the storage card out from its slot
