Follow these instructions to set up the phone for email. If you need more help during setup, take a look at our top 25 email provider settings.
1. Find Mail
- Press the menu icon
- Press Mail
2. Create new email profile
- If email profiles have already been created:
- Press the Menu key
- Press Accounts list
- Press New account
- Press Other (POP3/IMAP)
3. Enter email address
- Press Email address and key in your email address
4. Enter password
- Press Password and key in the password for your email account at your email provider
- Press Next
5. Select server type
- Press the Protocol drop down list
- Enter in your server type
6. Enter username
- Press the field below Username and key in the username for your email account at your email provider
7. Enter incoming server
- Press the field below POP server and key in the name of your mail provider's incoming server
8. Deactivate SSL encryption of incoming email messages
- Press the drop down list below Security type
- Choose your SSL requirements
9. Enter incoming port
- Press the field below Server port and enter your incoming port details
- Press Next
10. Activate or deactivate SMTP authentication
- Press Login required to activate or deactivate SMTP authentication
- When the box next to the menu item is ticked (V), the function is activated
11. Enter username for outgoing email
- Press the field below Username and key in the username for the outgoing server, if required
12. Enter password for outgoing email
- Press the field below Password and key in the password for the outgoing server, if required
13. Enter outgoing server
- Press the field below SMTP server and key in the name of your email provider's outgoing server
14. Deactivate SSL encryption of outgoing email messages
- Press the drop down list below Security type
- Choose your SSL requirements
15. Enter outgoing port
- Press the field below Server port and enter your outgoing port details
- Press Next
16. Enter profile name
- Press the field below Account name and key in the name of your email profile (e.g. Private or Work)
17. Enter sender name
- Press the field below Your name and key in the required sender name
18. Retrieve email messages
- Press Finish setup
- Wait while the phone retrieves new email messages
19. Exit
- Press the Home key to return to standby mode
Orange customers
Orange customers should use the following settings in the relevant categories shown above:
- EE Internet settings
- EE APN = everywhere
- Username = eesecure
- Password = secure
- EE MMS Settings
- APN = eezone (case sensitive)
- Username = eesecure
- Password = secure
- MMSC = http://mms/
- MMS proxy = 149.254.201.135
- MMS port = 8080
