This article explains how to set up WiFi Calling on the Microsoft Lumia 640. Just follow the three simple steps below to get started.
1. Activate WiFi Calling
If you haven’t already, text WiFi Calling to 150 from your EE phone. You’ll receive a confirmation text when WiFi Calling has been activated on your account.
2. Connect your phone to WiFi
Not sure how? Read our instructions.
3. Switch on WiFi Calling on your phone
Swipe left from the Home Screen and tap settings. Tap mobile + SIM. Tap SIM settings. WiFi Calling defaults as off. Slide the toggle to the right to turn on. The WiFi Call indicator will appear at the top left corner of your screen. You’re now ready to send and receive calls and texts over WiFi.
A couple of things to note when using WiFi Calling
At launch, there are a couple of things which might make your call experience over WiFi Calling slightly unusual. Firstly, you’ll hear the international dialling tone when both parties are using WiFi Calling. Secondly, when a call is put on hold, the person on hold won’t hear the hold beeps. There will just be silence. We’re working to resolve these quirks, but it shouldn’t affect the quality of your service.
