Set up a Hue Dimmer switch


To get the full functionality from your switch, you'll need to have a Hue Bridge set up in your home. If you've yet to add a Bridge to your home, follow the steps in Set up a Hue Bridge before attempting to set up your Hue Dimmer switch.

1. From the home screen tap Hue.
2. Tap the Settings tab.
3. Tap Accessory setup.
4. Tap the Add accessory button.
5. Tap Hue Dimmer switch.
6. On this screen, you have two ways of setting up your Hue Dimmer switch. Tap the option that matches your situation. For this example, we chose 'Option 1'.
7. Follow the on-screen instructions, then tap LED blinking.
8. Select the room where you'd like to use the switch.
9. Tap Set up.
10. Tap your switch from the list.
11. Tap the switch name.
12. Name your switch, then tap the tick key.
13. Tap Where?.
14. From here, you can assign which room you'd like the 'On button' to control. For this example, tap the room you'd like to control with your Hue Dimmer switch. You can also tap 'Home'; this allows the dimmer switch control to all lights you've set up via the Hue app.
15. Tap the back icon.
16. Tap the tick icon to save the changes you've made.
