Proud partners of Go ON UK

As a founding partner of Go ON UK, we're committed to building a digitally literate nation.

More than 10 million Britons currently aren't online and a further five million are lacking the basic online skills needed to get the most out of the digital world.

We will use our staff, stores and business to reach out to these people and help them get online and build digital skills so they can make the most of being connected.

About our partnership

Go ON UK is a cross-sector partnership aimed at making the UK the world's most digitally capable nation. EE is the only UK mobile operator among the eight founding partners, which include the BBC, Lloyds Banking Group, the Post Office and Age UK. This partnership is a key part of our corporate responsibility goal to share the power of connectivity with everyone in the UK.

As a founding partner of Go ON UK, we've made a number of commitments to support the goal to build a digitally literate nation. You can read about our commitments here, along with the other founding partners. They will include our Digital Champions programme and the Digital Living section of our website.

The Go ON UK board is headed up by Martha Lane Fox and we also have a representative on the Go ON UK executive management group, which inputs in to the development and delivery of Go ON UK programmes.

We want to ensure that everyone is able to enjoy the social, economic and cultural benefits of the internet

Why it matters to us

Digital literacy is an urgent priority for the UK. More than 10 million Britons currently aren't online and a further five million are lacking the basic online skills needed to get the most out of the digital world. However, many people who are not online at home are active mobile users and have ready access to the internet. Nine out of 10 adults in the UK now own a mobile phone and one in seven households has dispensed with a landline altogether. With the integration of the Orange and T-Mobile networks, EE offers the largest 3G network and the first 4G network in the UK. We also offer home broadband services to get people online, and are the first consumer brand to launch 4G in the UK. This will provide faster and more reliable mobile internet connectivity for individuals and businesses that don't have access to high-speed broadband at home, such as those in rural areas or in social housing.
