The 1:1 square aspect ratio gives you a head-to-toe view of anyone at your door, plus it captures parcels left on the ground that other doorbells might miss.

The Arlo Chime 2 plugs into any indoor wall socket and connects directly to your WiFi, so there’s no need for a base station. When someone presses the doorbell, the chime plays an audible alert inside your home. You can choose from 11 different melodies, adjust the volume and even set it to trigger a built-in siren when motion or audio is detected by your Arlo cameras. You can link multiple chimes to a single doorbell, so you’ll always hear it wherever you are in the house.

You’ve got both options. The doorbell comes with a built-in rechargeable battery that lasts around 4 to 6 months on a single charge, so you can install it wire-free in minutes without any DIY skills. If you prefer, you can also hardwire it to your existing doorbell wiring (between 8V and 24V AC) to keep the battery topped up continuously. Either way, the doorbell always uses battery power to operate.
