A Battery Backup Unit (BBU) provides power to your hub if there’s a power cut. This is so you can still make emergency calls from your Digital Voice phone or existing corded handset.
The new BBU features hibernation mode, a feature that automatically puts the unit into standby mode as soon as only 25% of battery life remains. The hub and master socket (referred to as the Full Fibre Connection Box/ ONT/Modem in the set up instructions) can then be easily powered up, on demand for emergency calls
Hibernation mode enables you to reserve power, so you can stay connected when you need it most.
Please make sure you keep your battery back-up unit connected to the mains power supply and your Hub powered up. This will make sure it has enough charge if it's needed. We recommend that you limit broadband and call usage during power outages to preserve power so that you are able to make an emergency call if needed.
