Question 1

What does the EE Mobile WiFi Extender 7 Pro actually do?

Accepted Answer

The EE Mobile WiFi Extender 7 Pro extends your existing EE Smart 5G Hub network throughout your home, eliminating WiFi dead spots and ensuring consistent, high-speed coverage in every room. It uses WiFi 7 technology across tri-band 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz frequencies, giving your connected tech faster and more reliable wireless performance, especially in larger homes or properties with thick walls.

Question 2

Is the EE Mobile WiFi Extender 7 Pro compatible with my current EE hub?

Accepted Answer

Compatibility depends on which hub you have. The Extender 7 Pro is compatible with the EE Smart 5G Hub Model HH70C and the Smart 5G Hub Model HH20C, where the backhaul operates in WiFi 6E mode. It’s not compatible with fixed EE Broadband Hubs or the Smart 4G Hub. If you have the EE Smart Hub Pro (SH40J), it works with the EE Smart WiFi Pro extender. Check which hub you have before purchasing to make sure you get the right extender.

Question 3

What WiFi standard does the Extender 7 Pro support?

Accepted Answer

The Extender 7 Pro supports WiFi 7, the latest generation of wireless technology, using the 802.11be standard. It operates across all 3 bands simultaneously, 2.4GHz (2x2), 5GHz (4x4), and 6GHz (4x4), for less congestion and faster connections throughout your home compared to older WiFi 5 or WiFi 6 extenders.

Question 4

Does EE offer a speed guarantee with the Extender 7 Pro?

Accepted Answer

Yes. EE promises a minimum speed of 100Mbps in every room of your house with the WiFi Extender 7 Pro. If that isn’t delivered, you’ll get £100 back. It’s a genuine commitment to making your whole-home WiFi experience work as it should, giving you peace of mind that you’re getting fast coverage wherever you need it.

Question 5

How much does the EE Mobile WiFi Extender 7 Pro cost and can I pay monthly?

Accepted Answer

The EE Mobile WiFi Extender 7 Pro is available for £150 through EE. If you’d prefer to spread the cost, you can add it to your EE Mobile bill, paying just £7 today and then £13 a month for 11 months. The total remains £150, and there are no fees, no interest, and no credit check required.

Question 6

Does the Extender 7 Pro have any wired connection options?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The Extender 7 Pro includes 2 x 2.5 Gbps LAN wired Ethernet ports. This means you can connect wired tech like a games console, desktop, or smart TV directly to the extender for the fastest and most stable connection possible, while still spreading wireless coverage to other rooms.

Question 7

How do I set up the EE Mobile WiFi Extender 7 Pro?

Accepted Answer

Setup is designed to be straightforward. After plugging the extender into a power socket, you can link it to your Smart Hub via the admin interface by entering http:// in your browser. A full downloadable user guide is available on the EE website. EE’s support team is also on hand if you need any help getting it up and running.

Question 8

Will the Extender 7 Pro work in a large house with multiple floors?

Accepted Answer

The Extender 7 Pro is specifically designed for large homes, older properties, and those with WiFi dead spots. Its tri-band WiFi 7 technology and high-performance 4x4 antenna configuration on the 5GHz and 6GHz bands make it well suited to covering multiple floors. For very large homes, you may benefit from using more than 1 extender to maximise coverage.

Question 9

Can I trade in my old tech when purchasing the Extender 7 Pro through EE?

Accepted Answer

Yes. EE offers a trade-in scheme where you can get up to £440 for an old tablet, putting money towards your new tech. It’s a great way to clear out old tech and reduce your upfront spend.

Question 10

Does the Extender 7 Pro support parental controls?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The EE WiFi Extender 7 Pro supports parental controls as part of the EE Smart WiFi ecosystem. You can manage which devices can access the network and set up additional controls through the EE admin interface, helping you keep your household’s internet use safe and appropriate for everyone.
