Topping up your credit allows you send texts, make calls and use data on your EE pay as you go phone.

Below are instructions on how to check your credit balance and top up/add credit to your phone. Simply select the best the option for you. 

Top up by text

If you’ve already registered a credit or debit card you can top up by text.

Text the following to 150: (remember have your registered card handy)

  • the letters CR 
  • the last four digits of your registered credit or debit card number 
  • the amount you want to top up (between £5 and £95)
  • the three-digit security code on your card (or four if it's an AmEx card)

For example, to top up £5: CR 1234 5 123

Remember to include spaces between each digit or it won't be successful. We’ll text you to confirm that your top up has been added to your phone.

Over the phone

  1. call 150 from your EE phone and choose top up
  2. follow the instructions given on the call

At an ATM

It’s so easy to top up when you’re getting some cash. You can top up at any cashpoint where you see the green top-up logo, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Just follow these simple steps:

  1. Find a cashpoint where you can top up, one with the green top-up logo
  2. Put your bank card into the cashpoint as you would normally do to withdraw cash 
  3. Enter your PIN, then choose Mobile Top Up from the options menu 
  4. Follow the onscreen instructions to top up
  5. You'll get a choice of EE/Orange or EE/T-Mobile. Both work for EE

You’ll get confirmation that the top up has been successful on the cashpoint screen as well as a printed receipt, and it will be added to your phone immediately. 

Check your credit

Need to check your credit? 

  • Log in to My Account or My EE app, your balance will be displayed once you've logged in
  • Text AL to 150 for info on your credit balance and any allowances
  • Call 150 from your EE phone, or 07953 966 250 from any other phone

My EE app

For superfast top ups, download the My EE app and manage everything on the go to download: 

  • text APP to 150 from your EE phone.

While you're abroad

If you're abroad you won't be able to use text top up. You can still top up online using My Account, or you can call +44 7953 966 250 and top up with a credit or debit card over the phone.

E top up card

When you get your phone or SIM card, we also give you an E top up card.

With E top up, you can top up when you’re out and about at more than 100,000 shops across the country. Just look out for the green logo.

Then all you need to do is:

  1. Visit any shop displaying the green top-up logo  
  2. Tell them how much you want to top up (between £5 and £50 in £5 increments) 
  3. Hand over your E top up card for swiping  
  4. Pay (and don't forget to get your E top up card back)

We’ll text you to confirm that your top up has been added to your phone.

Don’t worry if you lose your E top up swipe card. There isn't any money or personal information stored on the card and as it's only linked to your phone, no-one else can use it. Simply pop into an EE store to pick up another E top up card. You'll need to link your new E top up card to your phone before you next top up. 

To link an E top up card to your phone:

• call 150 and follow the instructions

• send a text to 150. Start with ETU, followed by a space and then your 13-digit E top up card number e.g. ETU 1234567891234

The space in between is really important, so please include it.

You can link extra E top up cards to your phone, for example if you’re a parent and you want to top up your child’s credit. Just pick up an extra card from any EE store and link it to the phone you’d like to top up.

Topping up someone else's credit

You can top up anyone’s EE pay as you go phone. You just need their phone number and a credit or debit card to pay with.

E-voucher

An E-voucher is a card or receipt printed with a unique 16-digit voucher number. E-vouchers are perfect if you’ve left your E top-up card at home.

You can get them from EE stores and over 100,000 shops around the UK such as grocery stores, newsagents and off licences - everywhere you see the top-up logo.

Topping up with an E-voucher is simple:

  1. Visit a shop displaying the green top-up logo
  2. Buy a voucher (between £5 and £50 in £5 increments)
  3. Dial 150, and follow the instructions to top up using a voucher

We’ll text you to confirm that your top up has been added to your phone.

Or if you’d prefer you can redeem your E-voucher by text.

Just text VO followed by the 16-digit voucher number to 150

Top up in My Account

With My Account you can register payment card details, top up and buy great-value minutes and texts add-ons. 

Top up using My Account:

  1. Sign up or log in to My Account
  2. Register a debit or credit card inside the main menu options 
  3. You're ready to top up, just select Top up now inside the My Account homepage.

If you’re a 4G WIFI or tablet pay as you go customer, please note registering a payment card is the easiest and quickest way for you to top up your account.

EE tablet and 4GEE WiFi customers please call 0845 412 3662 from any phone (calls are chargeable) so we can help you top up.

Failed top ups

We always send you a text to confirm when a top up is successfully added to your phone.
It's very rare that a top up isn’t applied immediately. If this happens it may be because there’s a delay in our systems or the banking system. Don't worry, we’ll process your payment as soon as we can, there’s no need to make another card payment just yet. 

If your credit hasn't updated within 24 hours, please call Customer Services on 150 from your EE phone or 07953 966 250 from any other phone.

Tip: you can check your pay as you go credit any time. Just text AL to 150.

Please note: We currently do not accept foreign credit or debit cards or UK cards registered at foreign addresses.

Below are instructions on how to check your credit balance and top up/add credit to your phone. Simply select the best the option for you. 

Top up by text

If you’ve already registered a credit or debit card in your account, text the following to 2886:

  • the last four digits of your registered credit/debit card number
  • the two-digit top up amount (between £5 and £50)
  • the three-digit security code on your card (or four if AmEx)

So, for example to top up £5: 1234 05 123

We’ll text you to confirm that your top up has been added to your phone.

Tip: Save 2886 as 'Top up' in your address book so that it’s quick and easy to top up by text next time.

Over the phone

To top up over the phone:

  • call 450 from your Orange phone and choose top up
  • follow the instructions to top up with a registered credit or debit card, or to register a new card.

My EE app

Download the My EE app by texting APP to 450 from your Orange phone to get started.

Check your credit

To check your credit you can use the any of the following:

  • log in to your account
  • log in via the My EE app
  • text BALANCE to 450
  • call 453 from your Orange phone

If you're abroad

You won't be able to use text top up whilst you're on holiday, remember that you can still:

  • top up online using your account 
  • call +44 7973 100 450 and top up with a credit or debit card over the phone.
