About WiFi on the London Underground
With EE, all eligible customers get WiFi on the London Underground, provided by Virgin Media, as part of your plan.
The service is available in ticket halls, walkways and platforms at more than 100 stations, but not in tunnels or between stations.
You can use WiFi on the London Underground with any WiFi-enabled device including smartphones, tablets or laptops. Any device that can connect to a home, work or public WiFi network will be able to connect.
If you want to use a business device, contact your IT department to find out if it'll work.
When you register to use WiFi on the London Underground via the Virgin Media WiFi hotspot you’ll be sent a unique code to authenticate your device. Once registered, you'll automatically connect whenever you travel on the Underground.
You don’t need a password to log in to the EE WiFi-Auto hotspot, as your device will be recognised in the same way as is it when you connect to the EE mobile network. This means you’ll automatically connect to WiFi whenever you travel on the Underground if your WiFi is switched on.
- on the Virgin Media hotspot you can register three devices – if you try to connect a fourth, the one you use the least will be disconnected
- on the EE WiFi-Auto hotspot, you can only connect with a device that has your SIM in it
Some internet content will be blocked, as it's a public WiFi network and Virgin Media has a responsibility to make sure the content available is suitable for young people - whether they access it themselves, or whether they accidentally see it over someone's shoulder.
Usage is unlimited. You'll just need to accept the terms and conditions, which will appear when you connect for the first time.
