What is the Roam Abroad Pass?

Enjoy your plan's minutes, text and data allowances in 47 European destinations and five additional countries outside Europe.

How does the Roam Abroad pass differ from the Roam Further pass?

From 7 July 2021, our roaming pass was renamed as Roam Abroad instead of Roam Further. The benefits of Roam Abroad and Roam Further are the same.

If you're already using Roam Further as an Inclusive Extra or add-on on 7 July 2021:

You can continue to use Roam Further until you reach the end of your contract or upgrade. If you swap it for another Inclusive Extra or cancel it in that time, you'll still have the option to add it back on to your account.

How does the Roam Abroad Pass work?

The pass allows you to use your standard minutes, text and data plan allowances while abroad in the five countries listed below, as well as 47 European destinations, just as you would in the UK.

  • Canada
  • Mexico
  • Australia
  • New Zealand

The Roam Abroad pass will cover all countries affected by the EU roaming charges: Austria, Azores, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus (excludes northern Cyprus), Czech Republic, Canary Islands, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, French Guiana, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Guadeloupe, Guernsey, Hungary, Iceland, Isle of Man, Italy, Jersey, Latvia, Lichtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Madeira, Malta, Martinique, Mayotte, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Reunion Islands, Romania, San Marino, Saint Martin (French), Saint Barthelemy, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Vatican City (Italy).

Need to know

If your plan comes with more than 50GB of data per month, a fair use policy of 50GB will apply when roaming abroad.

How do I get the Roam Abroad Pass?

To add the Roam Abroad Pass to your plan as a chargeable standalone add-on:

  • text ROAMING PASS to 150

Or select the pass as your Inclusive Extra if you have an All Rounder or Full Works plan.

  • log in to EE or use the EE app
  • go to Menu > Plans, Inclusive Extras & add-ons
  • select Inclusive Extras and follow the steps to select the pass

How much does the Roam Abroad Pass cost?

£25 per month. This cost will be added to your monthly mobile bill and will appear as a separate line in the add-ons section of your bill. If you add this service in the middle of your monthly billing period then the cost in the first month will be prorated.

Do you have a plan that includes Inclusive Extras?

If you do, then you can add the Roam Abroad Pass to your plan free of charge. You may need to remove one of your currently selected Inclusive Extras to do this though.

What happens if I select the Roam Abroad Pass as an Inclusive Extra?

If you select the pass as an Inclusive Extra but are currently paying for the pass, the chargeable version will be removed and replaced with the Inclusive Extras version.

Need to know

If you change from the chargeable version to the Inclusive Extras version in the middle of your billing month, we'll credit your next bill with any remaining days on your chargeable version.

What if I run out of data while roaming in a Roam Abroad country?

You'll be able to purchase a data add-on. When you switch your device on abroad, we'll send you a text message with full details on how to purchase a data add-on.

Do I need to sign a contract for the Roam Abroad Pass?

The Roam Abroad Pass is a 30-day rolling add-on so once added it will stay on your account, with the cost added to your monthly mobile bill, until you remove it.

This means you have the flexibility to add the Roam Abroad Pass to your account for one month, remove it the following month and then re-add the month after.

Do you have an All Rounder or Full Works plan?

If you've selected the pass as an Inclusive Extra in your All Rounder or Full Works plan, there are no additional charges or contracts to sign.

How do I remove my roaming pass?

If you have the pass as a chargeable standalone add-on:

  • text STOP ROAMING PASS to 150

If you cancel during your monthly billing period you’ll be charged £25 for the full month, not just for the days you had the pass.

Alternatively, if you have the pass as an Inclusive Extra:

  • log in to EE or use the EE app
  • go to Menu > Plans, Inclusive Extras & add-ons
  • select Inclusive Extras and follow the steps to select the pass
