How to set up your calls with Alexa
in three simple steps...
Download and open the Alexa app
Open or download the Alexa app. Head to Settings and then Communication to link your EE account. Then follow the simple steps.
Select EE as your calling preference
Select EE so you can start calling friends and family, hands-free. Try it out by saying ‘Alexa, call mum’.

- How does the service work?If you’re on an EE pay monthly plan you can use your compatible Alexa device to make and receive calls without even picking up your phone. It’s free to set up. Calls come out of your monthly allowance as normal and out of allowance calls will be charged at your standard rate.
- How do I set up Alexa to make and receive calls with my EE mobile?
If you have an EE pay monthly plan, text ALEXA to 150 and follow these steps once we reply:
1. Download and open the Amazon Alexa app
2. Select Settings on the left hand menu
3. Select Communication
4. Tap on EE
5. Follow the instructions to link your account
6. Select EE as your calling preference
- How do I ask Alexa to make and receive calls?
It’s really easy. Just use these voice commands:
To make a call:
You can say: “Alexa, call” or “Alexa, ring” or “Alexa, make a call” or “Alexa, dial”
To answer a call:
You can say: “Alexa, pick up” or “Alexa, answer” or “Alexa, accept”
To end a call:
You can say: “Alexa, cancel” or “Alexa, hang up” or “Alexa, close” or “Alexa, stop” or “Alexa, shut off”
Other In-Call commands:
“Alexa, volume up/down”
“Alexa, enter digits”
- Can more than one person set up their number on the same Alexa device?
Yes, if they’re all in the same Amazon household.
- Can I make international calls from the UK when EE calls are enabled?
Yes, you can make calls to other countries from the UK. If you have international calls included in your plan these will come out of your allowance, if you don’t, these calls will be charged according to your mobile plan.

Add to plan: Available to EE pay monthly customers only. Not available with SIM only plans. You can add up to 3 Add to Plan accessories within the first 17 months of your 24 Pay Monthly plan. BT Sport app with casting and data streaming: Available to customers on consumer and small business plans requesting the BT Sport app for the first time. If you’ve previously benefited from our three or six months’ free offer, you won’t be eligible. The BT Sport app and BT Sport Casting are available for three consecutive months. The three months starts as soon as we receive your request for the BT Sport app or from the date you join or upgrade your price plan.
