A better deal together
Together, we’re the UK’s no.1 broadband and mobile provider* and we’re giving you a better deal, too. If you’re on EE Mobile and then take BT Broadband, you'll get exclusive offers on selected pay monthly mobile plans.
The UK’s no. 1 broadband and mobile provider
We’ve both been leaders in internet connectivity for a long time. EE is the UK’s most reliable mobile network and BT is home to the UK’s most reliable broadband technology, Full Fibre. And now BT and EE are coming together to create the UK’s no. 1 broadband and mobile provider, delivering you unrivalled connectivity in and out of the home.
Better security together
We want to make the internet a safer place for everyone. That’s why, together, we’re working on built-in cyber security, equipping the UK with digital skills, and a mission to beat online hate. Already, we’re taking steps to keep everyone safe online, with:
• EE PhoneSmart License: An online course that helps kids get ready to use mobile phones, teaching them how to stay safe and be kind online. It’s available for any kid on any network.
• Hope United: A series of how-to videos empowering everyone to report and block sexist material online.
- What does EE and BT coming together mean for me?
BT and EE are coming together to create the UK’s no. 1 broadband and mobile provider. It means that if you choose to move your broadband to EE you’ll be with the UK’s fastest broadband provider and the UK’s best mobile network. You’ll continue to get everything you expect from BT – engineering, expertise, reliability – along with the innovation and service from EE.
- Does this affect my BT broadband, and will I need to change my contract?
Your broadband and contract will only change when you’re ready to move to new EE. We recommend moving to new EE so that you can get the best experience from us.
- Why and when do I need to move to new EE?
You can choose to move to new EE when you’re ready. We recommend moving to new EE because you’ll benefit from even better connectivity in and out of the home.
- What is the switching process – will you need to send an engineer?
Moving to EE broadband is the same process as if you choose to move to another BT broadband product so we’ll let you know if you need an engineer during the checkout process.
- Will there be any interruption to my service?
There shouldn’t be any interruption to your service if you choose to move your BT broadband to EE broadband.
- What if I don’t want to switch to EE, can I stay on BT?
You don’t have to switch to EE until you’re ready. For now, you can choose to stay on BT, but we recommend moving to new EE to get the best experience from us.
- I don’t know anything about EE broadband, will it be as good as BT?
EE is the UK’s fastest major broadband provider, with speeds up to 1.6Gbps. It has the strength to connect up to 190 devices at the same time and it’s powered by BT technology. Plus, if you take our Wi-Fi Optimiser you can boost your broadband for working from home, or turbo charge your play with Work Mode and Game Mode – only with EE. And you’ll get regular checks to keep your broadband running at its best. It’s broadband built for your life.
- What will this cost me?
You’ll get a personalised EE broadband offer when you choose to move to new EE. Log in to My BT to see yours.
- What does it mean for my other BT products?
Pre TV repaint: For now, there are no changes to your other BT products, unless you choose to move.
Post TV repaint: BT TV has now changed to EE TV, but TV customers will see no change to their bill, and they’ll continue to get the same content and flexible TV packages, as well as being able to use the same set top box. There are no changes to other BT products, unless you choose to move.
- Can I cancel my BT broadband contract because of this?
No, if you're in contract you will not be able to cancel your contract. If you're out of contract, you will be able to cancel.
