If you're travelling outside the EU, it costs to send a text message.
One text message is equal to 160 characters.
If you send a text message that is longer than 160 characters, you will get charged for multiple text messages.
You may also be charged for multiple text messages if you're sending a group message, if you've added a subject line to your text message, if you've included a photo or if you've used an emoji within a text message.
While abroad, the daily charge on the Travel Data Pass applies to UK time. This means your allowances will reset at midnight UK time so you may incur two Travel Data Pass charges per day abroad due to the time difference.
Your device will use data if you have apps running in the background or apps that automatically update and this will trigger the daily charge on the Travel Data Pass. You can turn off automatic app updates in your device settings:
If you're travelling within the EU, you'll be able to use voicemail as you would at home with no extra charges.
If you're travelling outside the EU, you'll be charged both at the receive a call per-minute rate above to receive a voicemail and at the making a call per-minute rate above to save to your voicemail.
For example, if you're abroad in a country where the cost for receiving a call is £1.20 per minute and the cost for making a call is £1.20 per minute, you'll be charged £2.40 per minute to receive and save your voicemail.

Yes, our roaming add-ons are better value for money than standalone roaming costs. If you're planning to make calls, send texts and use data on a mobile network while abroad it'll be much cheaper to purchase a roaming add-on.
When you receive a call the number will be displayed as your number, voicemail calls will show as voicemail.
