Then you need to activate your device to work abroad:
Once activated, you'll connect automatically to a mobile network for free within the EU.
To use your device outside the EU, you'll need to turn on data roaming in your device settings:

From 15 June 2017 all plans include roaming in Austria, Azores, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Canary Islands, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, French Guyana, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Guadeloupe, Guernsey, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Isle of Man, Italy, Jersey, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Madeira, Malta, Martinique, Mayotte, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Reunion Islands, Romania, San Marino, Saint Martin (French), Saint Barthelemy, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Vatican City (Italy).
Please note: Turkey and Andorra are not included in the EE Europe Zone.
If you're in Greece or Cyprus, your device may automatically connect to a Turkish network. As Turkey is not within the EU, you may be charged for making calls, sending texts or using data while connected to a Turkish network.
To make sure you're not charged, check you're on the right operator in your device settings.
If you're travelling within the EU, you could benefit from turning data roaming off:
