If you’re an existing EE TV customer with a NOW Entertainment membership prior to 26 March 2026, HBO Max Basic with Ads will now be included at no extra cost for existing customers, and the membership will be called NOW Entertainment & HBO Max.
No. There’s no change to your monthly bill.
You’ll still get access to all the content included in your current plan.
After 26 March, download the HBO Max app and use your discovery+ account details to sign in.
If you have an EE TV Box Pro or EE TV Box Edge, HBO Max will automatically be available in your apps rail from launch. If you took an Apple TV 4K box before April 2026, you'll need to download it from the App Store on your set-top box.
If you received an Apple TV 4K box after April 2026, HBO Max will already be installed for you.
The HBO Max app is also available for Android devices. Go to Google Play and search for HBO Max and then download it.
HBO only supports certain content signed in American Sign Language.
If you are an existing customer who bought before 26 March, you can retain access as part of your EE TV subscription at no extra cost.
If you joined after that date and want to subscribe to discovery+ entertainment content, you can purchase by signing up in the discovery+ app, but this won't appear on your BT/EE bill.

Answers to NOW Entertainment & HBO Max questions
You can just access the NOW app on your TV box or other device and your content will be there
If you're a NOW Entertainment & HBO Max subscriber through EE, and wish to use the HBO Max app, you'll need to activate via NOW.
If you also have TNT Sports it's important when activating that you use the same email address so that you can access all content under one login.
NOW Entertainment & HBO Max contains all of the content from HBO Max’s Basic with Ads tier, so the content is the same.
HBO content in the HBO Max app will be in full HD (1080p). The same content in the NOW app is also in full HD if you have NOW Boost. Without NOW Boost, it's in 720p.
The NOW app allows customers to stream 3 concurrent streams and download eligible HBO content for offline viewing. This capability is being rolled out gradually over the coming weeks, so some titles may not be available to download immediately.

The HBO Max app allows customers 2 concurrent streams, with no offline downloads.
Boost will continue working as normal. Customers can keep enjoying their favourite Entertainment & HBO Max shows ad-free, with improved picture and sound quality, and the ability to watch on up to 2 devices at once.
The new NOW Entertainment pass is not currently available to take on EE TV, but you can get all content included and more with NOW Entertainment & HBO Max.
At the moment, EE only offer the Basic with Ads version of HBO when buying NOW Entertainment & HBO Max.
If you want to watch a premium film in the HBO Max app that needs a premium subscription, you can watch this in the NOW app if you have NOW Cinema as part of your EE TV subscription.
