Question 1

Is the PS5® Slim console different from the original PS5®?

Accepted Answer

The PS5® Slim is a more compact version of the original PS5®, with a 30% reduction in size and an 18% reduction in weight. Despite its smaller size, it offers the same powerful performance, including the ultra-fast SSD, 4K gaming, and support for 120fps gameplay.

Question 2

What is haptic feedback on the DualSense controller?

Accepted Answer

Haptic feedback on the DualSense replaces the traditional rumble motors found in older PlayStation controllers with highly programmable voice-coil actuators in the left and right grips. This means the vibrations you feel aren’t just a generic buzz, they simulate specific physical sensations like the texture of driving on gravel, rain hitting your character or the recoil of different weapons. In supported PS5 games, it creates a genuinely more immersive connection between you and the action on screen.

Question 3

What are adaptive triggers?

Accepted Answer

The DualSense’s L2 and R2 buttons feature adaptive trigger mechanisms that create varying levels of resistance and tension depending on in-game actions. For example, you’ll feel the string of a bow grow taut as you pull it back and you'll feel resistance when pressing the brake pedal in a racing game. The feature is supported in many PS5 titles and developers continue to build it into new games. A growing library of PS5 games makes use of both haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

Question 4

Can I play my PS5® games on PlayStation Portal™?

Accepted Answer

Yes. PlayStation Portal™ allows you to stream compatible games already installed on your PS5® console, giving you more flexibility in how and where you play around your home.

Question 5

What is included with PlayStation® Plus Premium?

Accepted Answer

PlayStation® Plus Premium includes online multiplayer, monthly games, exclusive member discounts, cloud storage for game saves and access to a large catalogue of PS4® and PS5® games.

Question 6

Can I play online multiplayer with PlayStation® Plus Premium?

Accepted Answer
