The EE Rising Star 2025 nominees
The prestigious EE Rising Star Award is the only EE BAFTA Film Award voted for by the public. Now in its 20th year, the award honours an emerging actor or actress who has demonstrated exceptional talent and begun to capture the imagination of the British public.
EE is delighted to announce the 2025 nominees
Marisa Abela
London-based actress Marisa Abela plays the role of Amy Winehouse in Back to Black, and will soon star as the lead opposite Michael Fassbender and Cate Blanchett in the Steven Soderbergh-directed thriller Black Bag.
Jharrel Jerome
Jharrel most recently appeared on our screens as the lead in the biopic Unstoppable. His breakout role was in the Academy Award winning film Moonlight, and he has since gone on to star in the four-part limited series When They See Us.
David Jonsson
David Jonsson recently starred as the co-lead in Alien:Romulus, and will soon be appearing in Stephen King’s The Long Walk opposite Cooper Hoffman. He also led the adaptation of Agatha Christie’s Murder is Easy in 2023.
Mikey Madison
Mikey Madison has an impressive array of projects under her belt, including the titular role in Sean Baker’s highly anticipated film Anora, as well as roles in Scream 5 and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. She’ll also soon be starring in the limited series The Lady in the Lake.
Nabhaan Rizwan
Nabhaan Rizwan made his screen debut in the thriller series Informer. And earlier this year he starred in In Camera, which premiered at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival to rave reviews.
EE BAFTA Film Awards
The EE Rising Star Award will be presented at the EE BAFTA Film Awards on Sunday 16 February. Vote for your favourite nominee and you could be in with a chance to win a pair of tickets to the awards Ceremony (terms apply).
