Frequently asked questions about student broadband
The best broadband for students will depend on individual circumstances. Students need broadband for research, video seminars and lectures, but choosing the right broadband plan for you, depends on what else you like to do online.
If you live in a busy student house with lots of connected devices, or spend lots of time gaming and streaming, choosing a faster broadband speed would be ideal.
If you’re moving into a large home, you might also want to consider a plan including a WiFi Extender, which means you get a strong and consistent signal all over the home.

All students over the age of 16, in full-time education, can register and verify an account with Student Beans. This includes if you’re studying for an apprenticeship.

The ideal time to order student broadband is at the end of the summer and before your academic year begins. If you know the address of the property you’re moving into and have a moving-in date confirmed, you can arrange for the broadband to be connected shortly after you’ve arrived.
Booking your broadband installation in advance will help avoid a gap without any internet connection.

Once you have logged in to your Student Beans account or via their portal, you will need to click through and enter your code on the EE website to access our discounted broadband plans, exclusively for Student Beans account holders.
Discounts are only available on the monthly broadband price of plans up to and including Full Fibre 1.6Gbps when ordered via the EE website (not available in stores or contact centres). It must be redeemed at point of purchase and cannot be applied retrospectively. After 12 or 24 months, the discount will expire and you will move to our standard out of contract price unless you recontract. The student discount is not available with any other offers unless we tell you otherwise. Our standard broadband terms apply.
