Set up and recover Norton™ Password Manager

Norton™ Password Manager is available to download directly from the Norton™ Dashboard by logging in through EE, Google Play Store and Apple App Store. You will need to have your EE account details. You can also download and install Norton™ Password Manager. To do this:

  1. Log in to EE
  2. Go to Add-ons and Benefits
  3. Select EE Cyber Security and choose Manage. This will take you to the Norton™ Dashboard
  4. Locate Password Manager and follow the instructions to install a browser extension
  5. Sign into the browser extension with EE ID
  6. Follow the instructions to create and manage your vault

ID monitoring for Theft Protection

Set up on desktop

  1. Log in to EE
  2. Go to Add-ons and Benefits
  3. In Add-ons, find EE Cyber Security
  4. Select Manage. If there is an Activate button, select this instead
  5. This will take you into the Norton™ portal. Under the ID Theft Protection tile select Enroll Now
  6. This will take you to the ID Theft Protection Dashboard. Select Monitored Information
  7. We’ll regularly check whether your personal information like email addresses, bank account numbers and insurance account details has appeared on the dark web. Next to any product you want monitoring, select Add and fill in these details
  8. Select Save

Set up on app

  1. Launch the Play Store or App Store and search for "Cyber Security"
  2. Select ID Theft Protection
  3. Select Personal Information
  4. Select Monitored Information - We’ll regularly check whether your personal information like email addresses, bank account numbers and insurance account details has appeared on the dark web. Next to any product you want monitoring, select Add and fill in these details.
  5. Select Save

Set up Social Media Monitoring

Set up on desktop

  1. Log in to EE
  2. Go to Add-ons and Benefits
  3. In Add-ons, find EE Cyber Security
  4. Select Manage. If there is an Activate button, select this instead
  5. This will take log you into the Norton™ portal. You will see a list of social media platforms; next to the ones you want monitored, select Add
  6. Link the social media accounts you want by filling in your login details for those accounts.

Set up on app

  1. Launch the Play Store or App Store and search for "Cyber Security"
  2. Select ID Theft Protection
  3. Select Social Media Monitoring
  4. Select Add to select the social media to be monitored
  5. Select Save

Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn do not provide API access to user posts, so only Account Takeover alerts for profile setting changes are monitored.

What is the Annual Identity Check powered by Norton™?

Your personal information isn’t something you want a cyber criminal to use to commit identity fraud. Our annual online identity check can help you know if your personal info has been found on the dark web. 

In partnership with Norton™, the annual identity check gives you an easy, fast way to find out if personal information linked to your email like passwords, bank or credit card numbers have been found on the dark web.   

All you have to do is visit ee.co.uk/security/cyber-security, click ‘check my email’, log in to your EE account and enter your email address and we'll do a scan. Once the scan's been done, you'll see the results. You’ll also get tips and advice on how to help keep your info more secure in the future.

How does the Annual Identity check work?

Powered by Norton™ a leader is Consumer Cyber Safety, once you enter your email address Norton scans for your personal information on hard-to-find dark websites and forums. It is important because identity thieves can buy or sell your personal information to commit several illicit activities.

How many times can I check my email? 

You can check one email address per year.

My personal information has been found on the dark web – what should I do? 

There are different actions you can take depending on the type of information you've found.

Username

Consider changing your Username, the same Username may have been exposed multiple times in the past.

Consider changing your passwords linked to that Username.

Password

Change your password.

If you use this password for other websites or app, then change it for those services too.

Set up two-factor authentication whenever available with a website.

Email

If you are using this email as a login/username, consider changing this for better protection.

We recommend that you never give any personal or sensitive information over email.

Date of birth

Review your financial statements and watch for any transactions you don't recognise.

Bank account

Review bank statements for accuracy.

Never disclose a debit or credit card PIN (personal identification number) in email or on the phone.

Be suspicious of strangers who ask for personal information by email or phone. Be wary of email attachments and "free" software.

Think before you download apps, click on links or reply to emails that might be harmful or fraudulent.

Keep your laptop or mobile device's operating system and Internet browser up to date.

Don't store passwords or other sensitive information on your smartphone.

Be aware of your surroundings when you bank online and watch out for "shoulder surfers," people who hover nearby and observe your information without your knowledge.

If you start receiving suspicious calls, contact your telephone service provider to see if it is possible to block calls from those numbers.

Register your phone number on the national do not call registry, if applicable.

Gamer tag

Change your password with all gaming platforms in which you use Gamer tag.

Enable two-factor authentication with the gaming platforms.

Change your email password associated with the Gamer tag.

Use a different password and Gamer tag for each gaming platform. 

Credit card

Contact your credit or debit card company for a replacement card and monitor your activity closely.     

Report any suspicious activity to your financial institution immediately.

CVV or CCV

Contact your credit or debit card company for a replacement card and monitor your activity closely.

Insurance Information

Identity thieves can you use any of your insurance information to submit false claims which can be for, but not limited to medical, car, life, home or pet. If your insurance information was found including but not limited to policy numbers, medical information, or insurance providers, here are some next steps to help protect yourself: Carefully review any insurance bills and claims.

Be on the lookout for:

  • Medical or other insurance collection notices on your credit report that you don't recognise
  • A notice from your health plan saying you reached your benefit limit
  • A denial of insurance because of past claims or medical records for a condition you don't have
