What is happening?

Each year, your monthly price plan(s) will increase by the rate of Retail Price Index (RPI). This year the change will take effect from 30 March 2018. RPI is a measure of the change in prices for consumers on average across the country over the last 12 months. The RPI figure, published by the Office for National Statistics, in January 2018 is 4.1 per cent.

Any bills you receive from 30 March 2018 will show a 4.1 per cent increase in the monthly price of your plan(s) if you joined or upgraded to a pay monthly or SIM Only contract between 26 March 2014 and 6 February 2018.

We appreciate that price rises are never welcome but we want to reassure you that we’re dedicated to giving you the best possible experience, including:

  1. investing in bringing you 4G in more places than any other UK network

  2. ensuring all Customer Service calls are now answered in our UK and Ireland call centres

  3. helping you stay in control of how much you spend with built-in data caps

Every March, as detailed in our terms, we increase monthly price plans in line with RPI. This reflects the increase in the cost to run and invest in the network and service we provide.

We’ve used the Retail Price Index (RPI) of 4.1 per cent, published in January 2018. RPI is a measure of the change in prices for consumers on average across the country, over the last 12 months. The change is calculated by adding 4.1 per cent to the price of your monthly price plan(s).

How will the increase appear on my bill?

The increase will appear on your bill as an increase to your monthly price plan(s).

What if I have a discount on my monthly plan?

If you have a discount, this will not change. The price increase is applied to your original price plan(s) charge and then your discount is applied afterwards. You can log in to My EE to see more information about your price plan(s).

Contracts entered since 26 March 2014 are subject to terms stating that the monthly price plan(s) will be increased once a year, in March. Customers who joined or upgraded on or after 7 February 2018 will not be impacted this year, but will get their first increase in March 2019.

If you upgrade to a new plan from 7 February 2018, this price increase will be applicable on your current plan until the date when you upgrade to the new plan. Your new plan price will increase in March 2019.

Can I cancel my contract?

Of course, we don’t want to see you go but if you’d like to leave before the end of your contract, you may need to pay an early termination charge.

Apple Music Membership: the individual Apple Music membership add-on is free for six months for customers on EE pay monthly or SIM Only phone plans and adding the add-on to their account for the first time. After six months, membership automatically renews and you’ll be charged £9.99 a month unless you cancel. If removed from your account during the free period, you’ll be unable to get the add-on again free of charge. Requires a handset using either iOS 8.4 or Android 4.3 or later. Apple ID required for full functionality. Unless you have an Apple Music Streaming add-on, data usage will decrement from your plan’s data allowance. Apple Music is for your personal, non-commercial use in the UK only. This offer is non-transferable. Not available with any other Apple Music membership offer. Apple Music terms apply. BT Sport – 3 months free offer: available to customers on consumer plans requesting the BT Sport add-on for the first time. If you’ve previously benefited from our six months free offer, you won’t be eligible. The add-on is available for three consecutive months. The three months starts as soon as we receive your request for the add-on or from the date you join or upgrade your price plan. If the add-on is removed from your account at any point during the three-month period, you’ll be unable to get the add-on again free of charge. At the end of the free period, you’ll be automatically charged for the add-onbut can cancel at any time. The offer is non-transferable. 

Data Boost: available to new and existing pay monthly mobile customers who sign up to home broadband plan. Data allowance boosted by 5GB. Not available with 30-day SIM Only plans or non-lead Sharer plans. You’ll lose the data boost if you cancel your home broadband. In order to retain your data boost when you upgrade or change your pay monthly plan, your EE home broadband must still be active and you must be moving to an eligible pay monthly plan. 

Early upgrade: early upgrade fees may apply to existing customers upgrading within their current minimum term.
