WITH SCAM GUARD FROM EE

Scam Guard is a mobile add-on which helps keep you safe by warning you about scam calls, protecting your identity and securing your device and accounts online. Scam Guard enhances your service by detecting and blocking spam and fraud calls, without blocking your important calls. It’s AI-powered, monitoring incoming calls in real-time and notifying you of suspected nuisance calls. Scam Guard is adaptive and self-learning, which means over time it’ll get better at determining whether a call is potentially spam or fraudulent.

Scam Guard is only available to EE Mobile pay monthly customers - it’s not available to pay as you go (PAYG) customers. Only the main account holder can buy Scam Guard and add it to other lines on the account. This is unless they request it from an EE Guide to give permission to the non account holder to purchase add-ons, either in store or by calling 150.

Please note that the additional lines on the account with Scam Guard added will only receive on-screen call warnings/call labelling. Other features are only available to the account holder.

Turning on Scam Guard for the first line on the account automatically activates the Norton subscription. For security, only the account holder can sign in to the EE Cyber Security app or My Norton using their EE ID. We only share the account holder’s contact email with Norton so they can send Dark Web Monitoring alerts. Alerts go to this email unless the account holder updates it in My Norton or the EE Cyber Security app.

Scam Guard is fully integrated into the EE network, meaning we can analyse more information about the call. This increases the effectiveness of detecting scams and number spoofing. Call data is captured in real time, rather than being stored by an app on your handset. This means you’re protected from scammers that might be using lots of different numbers in quick succession to try and get through to you.

Scam Guard is a 30-day rolling contract. To cancel Scam Guard, log in to your account, go to the mobile add-ons page, select Scam Guard from your list of current active add-ons and click remove. We’ll remove the Scam Guard add-on on your next billing cycle. It can also be cancelled at any time by calling us on 150 or by texting STOP SCAMGUARD to 150. You can cancel via an agent immediately, on your next bill cycle, or on any date in the future. You’ll receive a credit for any unused days on your next bill. To add Scam Guard again, text SCAMGUARD to 150.

Scammers change tactics from minute to minute, so no solution can guarantee to prevent 100% of unwanted calls. Scam Guard is your own spam fighting robot that proactively hunts and shuts down scam campaigns in real-time without the need for a human to ever be involved.

When you receive a call that Scam Guard recognises as a nuisance or fraud, your device’s screen will show a “Likely Nuisance” or “Suspected Scam” warning.

No. Scam Guard doesn’t currently screen calls received via third-party apps.

It’s a hidden part of the web that regular search engines can’t access. Dark web is a part of the internet that requires special software to access it. The dark web is where cybercriminals buy and sell personal data. Users can remain completely anonymous and policing it is almost impossible - which all means it’s a haven for illegal activities. Your personal info like bank card details and email login info could be getting shared on the dark web.

Online fraud and data breaches are on the rise, and if your information is stolen, it could end up on the dark web. Dark Web Monitoring regularly checks whether your personal information - such as email addresses, bank account numbers and insurance account details - has appeared on the dark web.

Scam Guard’s dark web monitoring helps you remove the information from the dark web. We monitor it by asking you to fill in a few details, after that you’ll automatically receive breach alerts if your information appears on the dark web. We’ll show you where the breach happened, giving you the chance to act. We’ll also give you tips and advice on how to keep your info more secure.

Sign in to the Norton DWM Portal using your EE ID or log into the EE Cyber Security app to update your personal information to be monitored.

Protection from text message smishing (also known as SMS smishing) scams isn’t included with Scam Guard, but we already have significant text message scam protection in place across our network. Our anti-spam filter has blocked more than 338 million spam and scam texts from reaching our customers since its introduction.

If you already have Scam Guard and have activated Dark Web Monitoring (DWM), you’ll see the new feature and a download option in your My Norton portal.To start using the new features, download the EE Cyber Security app and log in with your EE ID. 

If you haven’t yet activated Dark Web Monitoring, go to EE Scam Guard to activate it, then follow the steps above to download the app and sign in.

Scam Guard is available to customers on a pay monthly mobile or SIM plan. The add‑on starts as soon as we receive your request. Scam Guard includes network‑level call labelling, which detects and alerts you to potential spam and fraud calls. For the account holder only, Scam Guard also includes access to Safe Web, Safe Email, Safe SMS, Scam Checking Assistant, Dark Web Monitoring and one Anti‑Virus licence. Additional lines taking Scam Guard are only eligible for call labelling. We will share the email address registered on your EE account with Norton to activate Dark Web Monitoring. Norton’s terms apply. Some mobile devices include device level call labelling. Dark Web Monitoring is not available in all countries outside the UK. Monitored information varies based on country of residence. Norton do not search for personal information on all dark web sites and may not find all your exposed personal information with this search.
