What is 5G Standalone?
It’s the next step for our mobile network that will:
- be more responsive for better gaming and streaming
- give a more reliable connection in busy areas like stadiums and train stations
- improve indoor coverage and battery life
- give up to 10x faster speeds than 4G
It's called Standalone as it works independently of the 4G network, extending our 5G coverage beyond 4G areas.
How to get 5G Standalone on EE
You’ll need the following to get 5G Standalone:
- be on an All Rounder or Full Works plan purchased on or after 29 August
- have a compatible phone
- be in a 5G Standalone location
- have a compatible SIM card or eSIM
