Mobile WiFi Extender 7 Pro Compatibility

  • Mobile WiFi Extender 7 Pro is fully compatible with Smart 5G Hub Model HH70C.
  • It is compatible with Smart 5G Hub Model HH20C although extender backhaul will operate in Wi-Fi 6E mode.
  • It is incompatible with any fixed EE broadband Hubs or Smart 4G Hub.

Setting up the WiFi Extender 7 Pro

Wireless Setup

  1. turn on your Mobile WiFi Extender 7 Pro
  2. plug your Mobile WiFi Extender 7 Pro into a socket near your Hub. 
  3. switch on the extender and wait for the light to flash red.
  4. pair with your Hub
  5. press the WPS button on your Hub
  6. within two minutes press the WPS 
  7. button on the back of your Extender
  8. pairing may take a few minutes. When the Hub and Extender have paired, the light on the front of the Extender will be solid aqua
  9. find a suitable place for your Mobile WiFi Extender 7 Pro
  10. unplug the Extender from the wall (it will retain your setup) and put it in a good location. A good location is indicated by a solid aqua light on the extender after it’s been plugged back in

Wired setup

  • plug your Mobile WiFi Extender 7 Pro into your Hub
    Plug one end of the white Ethernet cable we’ve supplied into one of the yellow LAN ports on the back of the Mobile WiFi Extender 7 Pro. Plug the other end into a spare yellow LAN or yellow LAN/WAN port on the Hub. Make sure your Hub is switched on.
  • wait for a solid aqua light
    Turn on the Mobile WiFi Extender 7 Pro. After a few minutes, the light on the front of the Extender should turn solid aqua, indicating it has successfully paired with the Hub
  • find a suitable place for your Extender (optional)
    Unplug the Extender from the wall and remove the Ethernet cable. Find a suitable location in your home. A solid aqua light on the Extender indicates a good location after it’s been plugged back in.

 

Where to position your Mobile WiFi Extender 7 Pro

Try positioning your Mobile WiFi Extender halfway between your Hub and the area with poor WiFi. A solid aqua light indicates a good signal.

If the light is orange, try moving the Extender to a different location

What the lights on the Mobile WiFi Extender 7 Pro mean

Flashing Green. Your device is starting up

Flashing Blue. You’ve activated WPS to connect to your Hub, a wireless device, or extender. Connect within 120 seconds.

Blue. Your Mobile WiFi Extender 7 Pro has successfully connected. Once it turns Aqua, you’re ready to go

Aqua. Your Mobile WiFi Extender 7 has a successful connection and a strong signal over WiFi or ethernet

Orange. Your Extender is connected, but the signal is poor. Try moving it closer to your hub or another extender.

Flashing Red. Your extender is not connected to your hub. Follow the instructions in the guide to set up your extender. You can also reset it to factory settings by pressing the reset button on the end of a paper clip for five seconds.

Red. Turn your extender off and on again. If the light still doesn’t turn aqua, use the end of a paper clip to press the extender reset button for five seconds to reset to factory settings

Managing your Mobile WiFi Extender 7 Pro

Changing network settings

  • open a web browser window
  • enter http://192.168.1.1 into the address bar
  • click Log in and enter your admin password - found on the label on the base of your Smart 5G Hub or the Keep Me Card, which came with your hub
  • you can now change your SSID, password and other network settings

 

Resetting your Mobile WiFi Extender 7 Pro to factory defaults

If you’re having issues, factory resetting your device by pressing the reset button on the back for five seconds may solve the problem. 

After factory resetting the extender, you must pair it with your hub again.
