Ifyou're having problems recording a programme or watching programmes you've already recorded, we can help you fix it.

Check you're connected to EE broadband

Check you're connected to EE broadband

While recording doesn't use an internet connection, your EE TV needs to be connected to EE Broadband to allow all the features to work. To check your EE TV is connected to your EE Broadband:

  • press MENU on your EE TV remote
  • go to TOOLS & HELP > STATUS and press OK
  • check your internet status is Connected

If the local or internet status shows as in progress, find out more about connection issues.

You have too many recordings

You'll see YOU HAVE TOO MANY RECORDINGS if you try to record too many programmes at once – you’ll need to delete one of your older recordings.

Your EE TV can record up to four channels if Replay is turned off, or two programmes if Replay is on.

Recording starts too late or ends too early

Your EE TV works out when a programme will start and finish. You can always record a little bit extra just to be on the safe side.

  • press MENU on your EE TV remote
  • go to TOOLS & HELP > SETTINGS and press OK
  • go to RECORDINGS and use the arrows to change the extra recording time before and after a programme
  • press CONFIRM, then OK

Hard drive full

Your EE TV comes with a terabyte (1TB) hard drive. So there's plenty of room for recording all your favourite programmes. But occasionally you might need to do some hard drive housekeeping.

One by one or series

To delete single recordings on your EE TV:

  • press MENU on your EE TV remote
  • go to RECORDINGS > ALL RECORDINGS and press OK
  • pick the recording you want and press the delete button on your remote, then OK
  • repeat for all recordings you want to delete
  • you can also sort your recordings by date, channel, alphabet or category from OPTIONS

Delete all recordings

You can delete all recordings from your recording settings.

  • press MENU on your EE TV remote
  • go to TOOLS & HELP > SETTINGS and press OK
  • go to RECORDINGS > DELETE ALL and press OK

Recordings missing?

Sounds simple, but make sure your EE TV is always connected to a power supply and TV aerial. When it's off, it won't record your programmes.

Check your hard drive

You can check for errors on your EE TV hard drive.

  •  press MENU on your EE TV remote
  • go to TOOLS & HELP > SETTINGS and press OK
  • go to ADVANCED SETTINGS, enter your PIN, then press OK on your remote to ENTER (if you've forgotten the PIN you chose when you set up your EE TV, get in touch
  • go to Check your hard drive > OK > CONTINUE > OK
  • the check shouldn't take long, but you'll be unable to record, watch recordings or use Replay
  • when you see Hard drive check is completed, wait a few seconds before checking your recordings

Reformat your hard drive

You can reformat your EE TV hard drive but it will delete all your recordings and Replay content.

  • go to Format your hard drive and press OK > CONTINUE > OK
  • your EE TV hard drive will reformat
Reset EE TV

If you continue to have problems recording, it may help to restore your EE TV default settings.
