Check your connection

If you're having trouble connecting, check the signal indicator.

The light should be showing yellow to indicate a 3G or 4G signal or green to indicate a strong 3G or 4G signal. If you have a red light, that means there is no connectivity and you won't be able to use Car WiFi. A blinking red light means your device is preparing to connect.

You can use our Mobile Coverage and Network Status Checker to see the network that's available for the area you're in.

The device automatically disconnects from the network if no data is transferred within ten minutes.

Data usage

If you still can't connect, make sure that you have enough data. You can easily find out how much data you have left remaining and if you need to buy more through My EE or by going to when connected to your Car WiFi.

If you've run out of data, you can buy more - learn how by following these links for pay as you go customers or pay monthly customers.

If you’re a pay as you go customer and have ran out of data, a page to buy data should automatically appear when you type a URL into your internet browser. Please note, the page won't be triggered if you are using an  app downloaded onto your device such as Facebook, Instagram or YouTube, or if you type the URL into the search bar.

Manage your connection

You can also use Connection Manager to view your connection and how many devices are using WiFi.

If you don't need to connect to the network, we recommend disconnecting your connected device, such as your tablet, laptop or smartphone from the Car WiFi to reduce your data use.
